Yes. you can save SHSH files without it being jailbroken. Use TinyUmbrella. :)

okay. That's fine. I needed to add that your ipod touch can only run 3.1.3 so upgrade to that then run spirit. Do you want to keep 1.1.5?

okay. (why did you post a reply to my post?) that is pretty old firmware. upgrade to 3.1.3 or 4.0 and use spirit to jailbreak.

Hi. Is apple requiring shsh files now for ipod touch 2g (not MC model)? I keep getting a 3194 error in itunes when trying to restore to 3.1.3. I couldn't find much online about it. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Hi. I have a 3Gs running 3.1.3 new bootrom and was jailbroken with Spirit. I have been having some problems with the touch screen. (it is sometimes unresponsive and I have to lock unlock it to get it to work again.) I have done a clean restore with no app store apps and not jailbroken but it still is being unresponsive at times. My question is does Spirit change anything on the phone that would let Apple know that it was jailbroken if I send it in to get fixed? (I want to keep shsh blobs.) Thanks!

Hi. I just did a clean restore and I didn't jailbreak. I installed a free app store game (It usually crashes in a game) and after a few minutes of playing, the touch screen stopped working. I had to put it in standby then unlock it again. Are there any other suggestions? If I jailbroke it with Spirit, do I need to do anything before trying to take it back to AT&T?

Hi. Sorry that I posted this before but I am still having the same problem I did before with my 3gs running 3.1.3. I do have a few more details about the problem though. When I'm using the phone, the touch screen randomly stops responding. If I touch the screen it just acts like I didn't touch it. the volume, mute, power, and home buttons all work when it is doing this. I have to put the phone in standby and unlock it again to get it to work, and I just found out that changing the volume for a few seconds sometimes works but it locks up again a few seconds later. I have already done a restore on the phone but it is still doing the problem. I have already tried restarting the phone, doing a hard reset (power and home until apple appears), restoring the phone, running safemode through SBsettings but nothing seems to work to make the touch screen always work. Someone suggested removing mostly Cydia apps from the phone to see if any of those are causing it, but I have about 30 Cydia programs so this will be hard to do and wouldn't safemode rule this out? I would appreciate any help!

Hi. I'm just wondering why the directions on the devteam blog say that if someone has the old bootrom and they jailbroke with spirit, they can't use pwnage tool to jailbreak. Can't they just restore to a new ios4 phobe and use pwnage tool? Does Spirit change something on the phone? This doesn't really affect me though since I have the new bootrom.

I'll try a different computer.

Well before after I put it in standby and turned it on again, the touch screen would work, sometimes until I was done using it, other times it was for a few seconds. Since restarting the phone wouldn't help, I started restoring it and now it won't finish restoring.

Hi. When I replied to my previous post, it didn't seem to work so I'll post it here. My 3gs running 3.1.3 didn't respond to the touch screen but it would respond to both buttons. I would have to put it in standby and unlock it to get it to work again. I'm now trying to do a restore and it is getting stuck. On the phone, the little gray bar is a little over half way and on itunes the bar is almost to the right side. I've tried redownloading the 3.1.3 firmware and reinstalling itunes and restarting the computer but nothing has worked. Thanks.

Hi. I have a 3gs running 3.1.3 and jailbroken by spirit. Recently, my phone has been not responding to the touch screen sometimes. When I am using it it will just not respond anymore. I have to put it in standby then wake it up to get it working again. Restarting it doesn't help. Also the home button works even when the touch screen doesn't work. Has anyone had this happen to them? I just would like to check to see if it is a jailbreak problem before restoring. Thanks! Kind of new here, but I have been reading for a while.
