"It is time for a new path forward and that requires a commitment from any company that wants to do business in the USA"

Or go elsewhere which is what they are currently doing. You can't force them to be here oryoki, we have to make America attractive to business or we will continue to lose it.

oryoki, In case you're not paying attention, it's now a world economy. Corporations are obligated by their shareholders to make as much profit as possible.

You know absolutely nothing about business.

Poor diversion attempt, I give it a zero out of five.

Try again.

This statement is what you suggested didn't matter. "Pretend for a moment we were self contained and didn't trade with the rest of the world. Even ignoring competition with foreign products, regulations on an industry still raise the cost of a product and many products are optional purchases so the price increase will lead to fewer people buying that product. If a laptop cost $10,000 there would be few people buying them and few jobs in companies producing&selling them."

Explain why it is wrong or why it doesn't matter rather than simply belittling the poster.

Soldier, How dare you reduce the subject down to simple honest facts. You're going to ruin their morning.

So let's see. You want more regulation and higher taxes on corporations and the people who run them but they're not supposed to take their business to more welcoming countries.

Does that sound reasonable to you?

Pretend for a moment that you can produce some facts that dispute 123's post.

Wing-tip shoes were popular during the turn of the century. My recollection is that the economy did pretty good then.

Mom, You are so smart. Please tell us why The United States has lost approximately 42,400 factories and a total of about 5.5 million manufacturing jobs since 2001and what you would do to save them.
