Our Army Family, I haven't been on in a while, but wanted to make sure you know to wait until you get to FL to buy any park tickets. Get FL license when you get here (they give them to you right there when you go to the DMV). You will get all the Florida resident discounts. Also, if you go to Sea World or Busch Gardens, you pay for one day and get to go back all year for free. Its called the "Fun Card". P.S. Be sure to check out the FL DMV website for their new long list of documents you need to bring with you to get the license...

Hi Coop! I grew up in Savannah- never really wanted to go back, BUT- I think I could change my mind for a Dream Home. The Landings is a nice gated community surrounded by waterways and has a great marina; but if you are trying to drive to or away from the Landings, pray you don't get caught by the causeway drawbridge- I've had that 5 minute road turn into an hour before! (and its the only road in or out)

I wasn't sure if I had taken correct notes. I have a 5 yr old son and sometimes I get sidetracked. Ive noticed when I return to finish what I started, it can end up all out of whack! So, I understand what you mean :) Well, either way, it looks like they've saturated FL pretty well! You have a great one too!

I agree with the seclusion thing- but thats just me! I know HGTV likes to build in the gated communities. So, if you've got a slight inkling about Montana and would like to see more acreage, check this out- 10, 20 or 40 acre homesites: http://whitefishhills.com/ Lucky #7 lot in phase III is looking good!

That is so funny you mention that because I was thinking the same thing over the past few days. I just wish I had been taking more thorough notes on the past blogs- too much to go through now :( Then, I was thinking that if we did that, maybe we could present a copy to winners of the Dream Homes kind of like the quilt they make each year over on the message board. I'd definitely be willing to help :)

I'm getting very good at waiting :) Not that it really matters, but I thought there had been 3 Dream Homes in Florida: 1999, Rosemary Beach (Belinda Brown); 2003, Mexico Beach (John Groszkiewicz); and 2008, Islamorada (Stephanie Dee). I could be wrong- it wouldn't be the first time!

Hi Cami, The bars are dark chocolate. Specifically on the package it states "Intense Dark". I have found the Madagascar vanilla bean at my local health food store but im not sure if you can get it at a regular grocery. If your local health food store does not have them, they more than likely can order them for you. You can also order them online through numerous websites. You can find Madagascar, Mexican and Tahitian beans, but I would stick with the Madagascar since thats the recommended vanilla in the recipe. The main differences in flavor between the three are: Mexican vanilla beans have a woody flavor and Madagascar vanilla has a more spicy flavor. The Tahitian bean is a mutated variety of the two with a floral taste. When picking your beans, look for a darker somewhat shiny appearance. Plumper is better than flat and try bending it- if it snaps it is too dry. A good bean should flex. Hope this helps! :)

Sounds yummy! Here's one: Lindt's Classic Hot Chocolate Ingredients: 1 quart (1 liter) milk 1 Madagascar vanilla bean, split 1 stick of cinnamon ¾ teaspoon (3.5 grams) black peppercorns (whole) 2 bars (3.5 ounces/100 grams each) Lindt Excellence 70% Cocoa, hopped Method: Heat the milk with the spices in a saucepan over medium heat until it reaches boiling point, but do not let the milk boil. Add the chopped chocolate and whisk until smooth. Remove from heat and let rest for 25 minutes to release the spices’ aroma. Strain the liquid and reheat before serving. Yield: 4 - 6 servings

Ok, boredom setting in...I just took a highlighter to my map and marked all states that have had Dream Homes built in them. (This next part is not meant to offend anyone- it is only my personal opinion) I am sad to say that the Midwest is the only large area on the map that they have not touched. I am wishing for pretty much anywhere out West or Hawaii :) Interesting fact: Florida (where I live and really want to leave) is the only state with multiple Dream Homes and has already had THREE. Maybe that will be a good sign that if I were ever to win a Dream Home, it wouldn't be here ;)

I did! I couldn't get to sleep and was on here at 1:30 when it went down. I couldn't get on this or the Green Home blog, so I went over to the message boards. Thankfully, I found Michele with 1 L over there and she confirmed it wasn't just me :) I finally got tired enough to sleep at 3:30 or so and it was still down...
