There are libertarians amongst the conservatives, as well as the other parties, especially UKIP. The Tories are putting forward a good case. I hope the smaller parties gain votes and seats alongside the Torys during the general election to deliver the message of 'eff off' to Labour that seems to be falling on their deaf ears. Liebour's place as an opposition party will not, therefore, be assured. The news of Dannatt joining the Tory's as an advisor today rivals that of the Sun's announcement last week, both combined being a double whammy for the Gordon party.

I would prefer it if the UK was a more secular state, but you can't always get what you want, unfortunately. On another note, I think the UK should follow France's lead and attempt to ban the Burka. It is not a required part of Islam, merely an option, and is not compatible with the human rights of this part of the world.

Labour's typical softening up approach won't fool many. Who trusts anything that the government says anymore? Fools might, but even the fools are disbelieving the words from a ministers mouth these days, and the disgruntled are smashing up Labour MPs cars instead. The food scare is also another subtle way to gain control of the UKs supermarkets, who are resisting government advances. For now.
