At the end of W's 2nd term, oil was over $91 a barrel and gas was $4.09 with taxes. Gas hasn't been $2.35 since 2005 when it was in the middle of the greatest price rise in history. At the same time, the greatest beneficiaries of the rise in price were the Saudis (W's good friends and the country of origin for all but one of the 9/11 attackers, not to mention, the main source of funding and resources for the attacks) and the oil companies (record profit margins and huge donators to Right Wing candidates).
