I guess the price we pay for jailbreaks. There was another app, that was Mac only - it would patch patch firmware for you on disk (jailbreak it) and then you'd restore with it, rather than require you to jailbreak it "live" on the phone. If you've already got a jailbroken 3GS (and it's well within the date to not worry about the tether; SN xxx25...), how do you upgrade to 3.1.2 and preserve the jailbreak? If I update to 3.1.2 I'll loose the existing jailbreak & such, which is no good. I see that the pwnage tool is used to make firmware, which sounds like what I need, but it's not on the Windows platform. Please note: On AT&T, I don't care about the carrier unlock.
