BakersfieldNow.com : State Lawmakers: Leave your guns at home | Bakersfield Now - News, Weather and Sports | Local & Regi

Assemblyman Anthony Portantino also said you don't need a gun to buy a cheeseburger or a cup of coffee. You know what......You also don't need freedom of religion to buy a cup of coffee or a cheeseburger either. Nor do you require freedom from unreasonable search and seizure to buy a cup of coffee or a cheeseburger. It is not necessary to have freedom from self incrimination to buy a cup of coffee or a cheeseburger. Now in light of a logical examination of the Assemblyman's argument does anyone believe it is a valid argument?

Direct quote from the article. "Borte is now fighting for blow darts to be banned, arguing there's no reason for something that can cause such havoc to be sold." Hey what else can I cause intense havoc with......What do you think I could do with a pencil? A kitchen knife?, a baseball bat? or Truck?, a car? , length of steel pipe? So your going to ban all of the above because of what PEOPLE could do with them?

BakersfieldNow.com : Man tests right by carrying gun in public | Bakersfield Now - News, Weather and Sports | Local & Reg

Lets see......these guys were committing no crimes and you criticize their actions for exercising their rights.....Here is a test....if they were promoting free speech in the park but were asked to leave because its illegal to speak freely in the public parks would you have a problem with this? You MUST support ALL rights even the ones you don't like.
