I'm wondering if it's possible to write Rebecca Long @ Purdy? I'd enjoy creating an entertaining missive that details my hopes for her as she completes her piddly little sentence. (My vision for her next 41 months involves a weight-lifting Bull Dyke with an extreme hatred of child abusers) I wonder if you have to have an inmate # when writing to this evil swamp sow? Oh I hope not! *gets out pad & paper* Washington Corrections Center for Women Inmate Rebecca Long 9601 Bujacich Road NW Gig Harbor, WA 98332-8300

So many great comments here, based on solid logic and a contemporary world view. In contrast, so many illogical arguments, based on Christian rehetoric and/or ignorance and hatred. Most folks that I know that profess to be Christians, don't see things with the same narrow view as the guy who is clearly threatened by homosexuality and BigJerk, the bible thumper. Huzzah for opting for an opinion based on genuine care for thier fellow man/woman - regardless of his/her sexual orientation. And then there's the folks in the extreme which - unfortunately - always appear so ignorant when quoting scripture. One of those people are my biological father who once asked my daughter (at the tender age of 8) "...if it bothered her that her mother is going to hell..?" (for being gay). No kidding.

I've been going to the Kingsgate Safeway for over ten years as it's near my job. I watched James go from bagger to checker over those years and bar none - he's the friendliest and most efficient checker in the place. He's an inspiration to others with like-challenges. Go James! You look maahhhhhvelous!

Good luck little otters! Stories like this, while sweet, just remind us how jacked up this planet is because of human disregard --- or greed. Ken Burns latest documentary about America's National Park system (five stars!) covers a familiar topic to documentary watchers; decimation of buffalo herds in the "wild west". That story...those images never fail to physcially sicken me.

I can tell you from years of service work that it's the ones who complain the loudest that do the least. This has been proven time and time again over ten solid years of service work. You say: "OK, if you don't like it, show up to the next meeting, give your opinion and pitch in on the next project!" And those folks are no where to be found come time to approach the next project.

One more thing to note: they will climb onto the HIGHEST THING - whatever that thing is. Imagine my surprise when, years ago, visiting a friend's farm and I go out to get in my car and there's a ram standing defiantly on the roof of my old Buick.

KOMO - Seattle, WA : Best place to buy new garden plants | KOMO News - Seattle, Washington | Consumer News

Emery's is highly ranked in the report but I don't find it to be that great at all. The selection is mediocre and the staff can be best described as "impatient". The last time I was there - just last week - the woman who asked "to help me" was actually condesending and snotty. Molback's in Woodinville is - without fail - the best. Sure, you pay more but the quality of plants is unmatched and the shopping experience is inspirational for a garden geek like me. Staff are always uber helpful too.

Exactly JAT! My breast cancer was even treated without requiring chemo. Because it was caught early enough and there was enough "margin" around the tumor that surgery "got it all". I only had to do radiation. EARLY DETECTION IS KEY! And incidentally, the doctors & staff at Evergreen Hospital, Totem Lake, are awesome. Truly top drawer cancer center there. Wonderful staff and (if you need it) gobs of support and services. Five stars.

When my mother could no longer care for my brother during the last weeks of his life (due to Lou Gehrig's disease or ALS), she made the hard decision of putting him in a nursing facility close to her home. It is only because our familiy was there, checking on him, monitoring what was happening, every single freeking day that he got the most BASIC care and concern from the staff there. They saw us as a gaggle of meddling, pains in the arse. One "nurse" actually rolled her eyes at me when I asked when he'd be getting his hair washed! (any idiot could see he needed this to happen) Unless you can afford the "nice" ones, your final years are spent in (as someone else put it) a warehouse for the dying.

I'm neither fat or looking for a man, but I know from listening to single girlfriends in this situation that the men who want "athletic" or "toned" mates are most always tubs o lard themselves. Captain Beer Belly wants a sleek and slender woman to date. No news story there. A nationally syndicated radio host claims that the quality of mate you attract is absolutely connected to the size of your bank account. He's right.
