All office workers (clerical = white collar) are part of the collective bargaining unit (ASFCME). The nursing staff are represented by SEIU. They are part of the collective bargaining union membership whether or not they want to be, whether or not they are dues paying or not. As I have already stated, they have ineffective representation. They cannot strike against the state� It is not worth the monthly dues for this lack of representation by the union, plus it is mandatory for the white collar clerical employees to belong to the union, they have no choice.
