theiphoneproject : 3G unlock unleashed - ultrasn0w launched!

Hi :)

Did your phone ever work? Did you ever get to the \"slide for emergency\" screen? I would try restoring your phone with iTunes. You can do this by holding the power and home button for about 20-25 seconds (you will see an iTunes cable and logo). Now, in iTunes, click \"Restore and Update\". If at the end of this, you get a \"slide for emergency\" screen, your phone is fine. The jailbreak might have not worked correctly and you just need to restore the phone again. Just post again with results and I'll try to answer.

Install SBSettings from Cydia (using Wifi). From SBSettings, you can completely turn off: WiFi, Edge, 3G (which you don't have), and turn down the brightness. I believe (from my experience), those are the three that drain the most battery - apart from playing games. So, let me know :)

hey guys, you need to use redsn0w. Sorry haven't updated EVERYTHING yet, but if you use the \"Jailbreak\" section under iPhone 3G on the right side, it is the same process except you need to use your iPhone1,1_3.0_7A341_Restore.ipsw

theiphoneproject : Download

Well, I would restore it to 2.2 and see if you can unlock it. If it's already updated to 2.2.1, you're almost indefinitely out of luck. Let us know what you decide to do - basically I would download firmware 2.2 from the iPhone 3G section. Then hold the power+home until you see the iTunes cable. This will reboot the phone in \"recover mode\". You'll know when you see the iTunes cable. Now, shift+click (cmd+click mac) \"restore\" button in iTunes. Select the 2.2 firmware. If it succeeds, you're in luck - you have firmware 2.2 and modem firmware 2.28.00 - which means you can unlock it. This is probably the simplest explanation I can think of at 4:32AM :) Lemme know if you have any luck.
