Glenn Beck - The 912 Project : 4/28/09: President Obama Wants Us To Spend 3% of Our GDP On Science

This is a noble idea, but the wrong time to be talking about it. It's adding insult to injury. There are plenty of worthwhile ways to spend someone else's money. When you take control of taxpayer's money and piss away not only what they have, but borrow from their grandchildren to do the same and then come back to them and say "Yes, and I'd also like to spend some of your money on scientific development", it seems a bit absurd. Americans are hurting and scared. They need confidence and relief. This president, I remind you, has virtually no leadership experience, has taken the helm of an injured vessel and is heading full throttle into a storm. He needs to back off of this collision course with insanity and get a grip on reality.

Glenn Beck - The 912 Project : Vent - through May 3rd

For those who want to DO something: I relate to your frustrations about our current government's leadership (or lack thereof) and actions. I encourage you to not only vent these, but to take some action. There are a number of ways you can be effective. Write to your President, Congressmen and Senators regularly. Sign petitions (there are quite a few floating around the net). And support lobbying groups that champion our cause. I will try and post the ones I find, but here is one organization that has been especially effective: http://www.aclj.org/?r=FD&s=google&gclid=...

Glenn Beck - The 912 Project : 4/28/09: The World Health Organization Raises Threat Level On Swine Flu

I have to say, I think Hollywood has gotten way too much mileage here. If our conservative movement is to gain any ground against this current and vastly more deadly epidemic (and I speak of the Liberal Socialism Virus), I suggest we think twice before spreading any conspiracy theories. In the last 100 years there have been a number of deadly influenza pandemics, the largest of which was the Spanish Flu of 1918, an epidemic killing almost 22 million worldwide including 550,000 in the U.S. alone. This is not to discount or absolve the new bureaucracy of their handling of it, but I seriously doubt they contrived it to further their cause. - "Just because you're paranoid, doesn't mean you're not being followed".

Glenn Beck - The 912 Project : 4/26/09: Counting Down The First 100 Days Of President Obama?

Just a side note here: Most of the opinions and information I've read here are valid and appreciated. But, unless we actually DO something, this 100 days will be the BEST part of his administration. We'll be wishing for these days again in a year or two. Suggestion: Write your Senators and Representatives regularly regarding issues you oppose or support. Join ballots and petitions that represent your opinion. Financially support groups that lobby legislation that you support. Join a Tea Party, write to the media, vote. I know it is frustrating to feel ramrodded by this banana republic administration, but our power is in numbers. If you make a commitment to do at least some of these things on a regular basis, we can make the difference we need. Every snowflake adds to the eventual avalanche.

Well, I believe it's a combination of two things: The 1st has to do with what mysteryman62 posted. Between Acorn, Hollywood, the leftist media and a fair number of seriously rich contributors, I'd say the deck was stacked pretty heavy in his favor. I mean seriously.........this guy is a nobody who did nothing from nowhere. That and the fact that the Republicans had a watered-down campaign is an accident waiting to happen. The 2nd is regarding the state of our nation. In 1770, Alexander Tyler wrote a book entitled " The Cycle of Democracy". If you are not familiar with it, the basic context is: "Nations have progressed in this sequence: From bondage to spiritual faith; from spiritual faith to great courage; from courage to liberty; from liberty to abundance; from abundance to selfishness; from selfishness to complacency; from complacency to apathy; from apathy to dependency; from dependency back again to bondage.” This seems to be historically accurate. In our case, most political theologians who subscribe to this concept, believe that we are in the 'complacency to apathy' stage. This said, it's no wonder a Democrat with promises of entitlement to all would be the logical stepping stone to the next stage....dependency. Sometimes the truth just sucks.

Glenn Beck - The 912 Project : America's Wish List

Well, aside from all of the individual issues that could could be improved upon, the one thing that strikes me as the most devastating thing Obama is doing is dividing our already segmented society. I mean, here we are...a country founded upon values and principles that have predominantly prevailed throughout our history, with relatively few exceptions, until the 1960's. Since then, the division between liberals and conservatives has grown exponentially, but without what I consider catastrophic results. I believe that this is because our government has had some semblance of balance in catering to both, while keeping our constitutional focus. What he has been doing, with the help of a liberal congress, is essentially imposing a far leftist philosophy on our nation. I believe that, unless there is something I'm missing here, he is trying to strong arm our nation into accepting a radical socialist agenda. This will not work. There are still way too many Americans that remember what America is and why it was created. These folks will not relent their freedoms and values*. He will either have to use force to subdue them or, as his predecessors, find a balance that accomplishes some of his ideals while giving the opposition it's due. The tax day tea parties are only the beginning of resistance to his ideals. If he continues this path, I fear that much radical and destructive responses will come. *The danger the conservatives face is this: Alexander Tyler, in his 1770 book, Cycle of Democracy, expounds on the various stages of democracy. "Nations have progressed in this sequence: From bondage to spiritual faith; from spiritual faith to great courage; from courage to liberty; from liberty to abundance; from abundance to selfishness; from selfishness to complacency; from complacency to apathy; from apathy to dependency; from dependency back again to bondage.” I believe that we are in the complacency to apathy stage. We have become a nation of consumers engrossed in our own comforts. The real question is: Do we have the will to fight for what we know is right or simply accept the 'Change'? All this to say that what is necessary for our president and congress to do is to get back the balance and remember that this is a country of diversity.......for both liberals and conservatives. Modify their decisions and plans to accommodate both. For our conservative friends I say: Let's find our way back to the beginning of the cycle before we meet the end.
