Breitbart.tv : Flashback: Ron Paul Encourages Jury Nullification As Form Of Civil Disobedience

The Pharisees set the law at the time and were not simply a religious institution, which is why they had the power to condemn Him. I don't think Christians today are absolved from following their consciences just because of the need to conform to secular society, either. There is not an obvious distinction that you can claim.

That's the same way the Democrats talk about the Constitution. It was fine, according to them, for Washington and Jefferson's times, but today we need a more 'progressive' government to promote our agenda. That document is out-dated for our modern society. Are we Republicans now adrift when it comes to foreign policy?

Breitbart.tv : Ron Paul 1991: Nothing Changed Under Reagan, 'No Difference' Between Parties

They learned about ridicule and smear from watching the Democrats do those things for so many years. President Reagan showed the nation how wrong the Democrats had been and they responded with ridicule and smear on all Republicans for two decades. Now it's somebody else's turn. In every case, it's done when people want their way at any cost. Kids do that in elementary school all the time.

Everything he said here is the same as what he is saying now, so he gets an A for consistency. He also gets an A for resisting the natural poitical tendency to pander to one group or another. He criticized how the government changed in spite of President Reagan, who was a great president yet could not reduce the size of government. So he is not a team player within the Republican Party, and that to me is a big advantage. We always complain about the party establishment rejecting conservatives and giving us guys like John McCain. So it is easy for me to take Ron Paul as a sincere candidate who wants to change government in the way he says, i.e. reduce the size of the federal government.
