Thank you. At least someone has it correct. if a person is transgendered, they are the gender that they identify as (feel to be, dress and live as most of the time), not the gender they were born into.

To everyone : We cannot change how we were born, where or whom we were born to, but we can improve upon this as it suits us. Do you say someone born with a disibility has to just "live with it"? No. You encourage them to strive to be whoever they want, to overcome hardships. I don't beleive gender-identity "disorder" really is a disorder, but it is a very difficult change to make in one's life. When a person does this, they do it for themselves, not you. Really, people with a major "problem" with this subject have plenty of their own issues that they try to hide by bashing other people.

Let's not forget the important point here, ok? A person was attacked for no real reason, and that's never right, no matter who it is.

Does this make you feel all big and strong? Did you get picked on a lot as a kid?

Gender identity has EVERYTHING to do with what's inside, not outside. Maybe half of all transpersons or intersexed persons get surgery of any kind. Ignorant, narrow-minded comments like this make you no different than the knuckle-dragger arrested for beating this woman up. Oh yeah, except you're hiding behind a computer.
