Aurdon's World of Warcraft Mage Blog : Why are we back to failing on Dreamwalker?

Why do you have a hard time saying no? I've noticed that in MMOs I have an attitude that may expect one to be disliked by just about everybody but it's just not the case. If you do what you want to instead of what others want you to do you somehow become a lot more interesting to them, plus you won't be getting depressed with your guild anymore. Just don't take it to the point of being an unreliable person.

It's rather ironic that a guild that seems to be showing a severe lack of dedication from some of its members, considering the lack of attendance and skill from some of them as you suggest, would still try to push one if its members so. When I raided I was always the high attendance player but I could still understand other people's schedule and find alternatives instead of harassing them. I haven't read your blog long and as such I don't know how your actual relation is with the guild but it seems that it may be time to find something different. If you're getting a burn out, not just from playing with them, but also getting frustrated with having to play a character that you don't want to play just so the others in the group can leech of off you I can't imagine it doing anything other than ruining the game. Nevermind them not having any respect for your out of game activities. My alliance guild had a little horde alt project running on the server where we would do 25 man pugs while doing ICC10/ToGC10 with our horde alt guild only ,every friday/saturday. They'd always give me crap because I didn't want to stay past midnight but when I told them they could either live with it or find somebody else it still kept happening and I decided to just cut of the horde raiding. Even though this slowly lead to the end of this little project, which was quite a shame as it was fun while it lasted, I believe that if your out of game priorities aren't respected you shouldn't be playing with them.

Aurdon's World of Warcraft Mage Blog : In which the grouchy old lady caves... to the pressures of needing a cool new toy to play with on he

It was more of a joke than anything else. I'm personally not a big fan and only make use of it as I mentioned in the previous post. That doesn't mean I don't realise other people enjoy its uses nor what it is capable of. I still find it a silly site though, and I doubt that'll ever change.

Twitter only has a few good uses: #1 Narcissists #2 Celebrities that have crazy fans #3 Crazy fans that want to know what their celebrities are doing #4 Getting your site indexed by google I personally use #4 and I can recommend it for anybody that's getting a new site out ;)

Aurdon's World of Warcraft Mage Blog : Five easy ways to make your PuG healer love you (or at least not hate you quite so much)

You should release this in an e-book on WoW etiquette, would fit in perfectly I'll say. Over the course of my dungeon crawling I've been guilty of some of these aswell, but most of those bad habits you quickly get rid of once you start healing yourself. It's hard to imagine people can get ticked off just because you tell them to "get some mana" or "stop lettting me drop to 5% health just because you think it's funny to see how low you can get my health without letting me die". I'm sure everybody hates being told what to do as much as your local healer and I'd just stick to that train of thought.

Aurdon's World of Warcraft Mage Blog : Epic Win and Epic Fail - The PuG Rollercoaster

You often hear people randomly complaining about how bad puggers are but you don't realise how fun the arguments can be untill you put them together afterwards. I love the "lag" excuse. Can't have a list of excuses online without at least dropping that one in!

Aurdon's World of Warcraft Mage Blog : In Which I Adopt a Newbie, And What Happened After.

It's almost mean giving us such a story just to have it end like that. Titanic all over again. The best moments in World of Warcraft for me are definitely these kinds of situations where you're just having some fun with other players, be it helping out a new player as you did or messing about with friends/guildies. When I'm semi-afk I always sit in Exodar. The funny part of this city is that new players always get lost and can't find the exit. Always find it amusing to invite them to group and ride them out on my Mammoth and make them go like all "Woah!" I rarely find myself able to do other things like this anymore while it was a common activity for me in Vanilla. ;(

Aurdon's World of Warcraft Mage Blog : You Win It, You Wear It

The idea behind it is understandable as the game is full of players that just want items. What I don't understand is the point of having to equip items that are Bind on Pickup anyway. I used to run weekly raids with alts from the best guilds on the server where you had to equip Bind on Equip items to make sure you wouldn't sell them instead. Of course, anybody with a slight clue would realise you could petition a GM to unbind the item and still end up selling it. As was mentioned by a few commenters, if people see you with the item equipped as you receive it from the master looter there doesn't seem to be much point in keeping it on for the whole duration of the raid no matter what the raid wants from you. All in all it seems to me that your raid is a little bit confused. I'd also like to add that if it's "Semi-Pug" every week you'd hope that you at least have a steady core of people that can be trusted instead of this awkward attitude towards eachother.
