Whatever concept the writer may present, whatever ideas the leaders in Malaysia may have of an Islamic state, the fact remains that the Constitution says Malaysia is a secular country. The misunderstanding of the words "official religion" may have led the leaders to veer to the direction of an Islamic state. In any case, will the writer please explain/ substantiate his statement (quote) "It may very well be that an Islamic state can deliver better social, economic and political outcomes than a secular state." (unquote)

Mr. Yeo, no offence meant, but may I humbly point out to you that the Federation of Malaya achieved independence 57 years ago, whereas Malaysia, formation in 1963, achieved independence 51 years ago?
Was that an authentic error or is it selective memory lapse with regards to the History of Malaya and Malaysia?

I wonder :- 1. WHEN was the Batu Sumpah tampered. 2. WHO did it. 3. HOW was it carried out unnoticed. 4. Were those certain words removed following instructions from the Kerajaan / Authorities or was it an act of vandalism. 5. WHY no statement yet from the Chief Minister's Department.

Both MCA and Gerakan also pointed the finger at tuition centres which are cashing in on the demand by roping in teachers involved in preparing the questions to give tips or insights into "spotting questions" to pupils, which at times are too similar to the questions in the examination. - 1) Tuition centres, have you done that? If you haven't, please take these guys to task and sue them for defamation. 2) Is it morally wrong for pupils/students to look at past exams papers and try to "spot" questions for the forthcoming exam? Does it necessarily mean that if one "spots" questions, one would throw caution to the winds and just concentrate on reading up ONLY on the topics/answers of the "spotted" questions? I personally don't think so. 3) Why the attack on tuition centres? What about hackers out to make a packet? I wonder what motive is behind this attack on tuition centres! By the way, I am not a teacher, nor am I involved with any tuition centre. Just my penny thoughts and comments.

I'd give you the thumbs up for your comments "don't stress the young children anymore". It's not their fault because they're the innocent party.

Friend, the kids don't cheat. They are not the culprits. They didn't get the question papers/ answers from the Education Ministry. Agree?

Fully agree with your suggestion that the examination papers should just be marked as it is. Let the Ministry then investigate and punish the culprits, but it is unfair to pupils and parents if they have to re-sit all those leaked papers. This is perhaps worse than having a by-election for a constituency as this involves the whole nation! Everybody involved will have to re-schedule their work, programmes and holiday plans. And of course the authorities concerned must impose heavy punishment, though execution by hanging or beheading should be ruled out!

“There are articles in the Federal Constitution that gives Parliament the power to enact laws to block free speech if it is used to question the rights of Malays, bumiputeras of Sabah and Sarawak and of other races,” Muhyiddin told the government’s “Making unity culture and celebrating diversity programme” here. - Has the Federal Government seriously EVER considered the rights of the bumiputeras of Sabah and Sarawak and of other races? Wouldn't it be the "right" of the bumiputeras of Sabah and Sarawak to question the non-compliance of the 20/18 Point Malaysia Agreement? Why then the threats by certain Ministers and PDRM to classify this under Sedition? Perhaps the DPM will initiate immediate actions to look into the grievances of the East Malaysia populate instead of trying to sweep everything under the carpet?

It's RM48,352 a year, that's about RM4,000 a month, or maybe wrongly reported? Anyway it's always fun with figures and always a haven for politicians to play with statistics. Reminds me of a song taught in my Primary classes which goes like this : " They say life in the army, the pay is mighty fine. They give you hundred dollars, they take back ninety-nine............" Similarly, here is 18% increase, but they don't tell you % increase in cost of living ! Then a sweeping statement about household in rural areas earning below RM5000. Now below RM5000 can mean anything from RM200 to RM4999, which is left to your imagination. I rest my case.
