Yeah most people just keep the Yurio moniker for the russian Yuri. Some differentiate more by writing the japanese Yuri's name as "Yuuri". It's easier since they both have basically the same name.

One thing I really like about this show is that while it's a bit of a different take on the genre, it's still a sports anime. And while it still has a bratty overachieving 15 year old, Yuri doesn't give up, or break down when Yurio starts screaming at him at the rink. He said it himself, Yurio is underestimating him. Yuri's mature behavior in the face of a literal screaming child is a nice breath of fresh air. And yes Yurio is a total brat and is rarely called out for it, but I still can't help but lose it when we see in this episode that not only is he a cat person with an adorable kitty of his own, but he risks his secret plan because he just had to buy fashion with a big cat on it. So maybe that's why I always see Yurio as a grumpy kitten. They can scratch, but the mature know how to handle it.

Also it would have been super icky to give the sexual love theme to a 15 year old so I was glad that didn't happen.

I am so excited that this is the first show I get to see you watch from the beginning. Especially since I love watching my friends binge watch this series. This show is profoundly life changing in my opinion. I am already more impatient to see your other daily reactions!
