I've spent much of the last week in tears reading the news, seeing the pictures and thinking about the huge task ahead of the haitian people. Firstly getting the medical assistance they need and sorting out their infrastructure to get access to clean water, food and much needed sanitation which is the biggest threat to life right now. I will say that while we are salivating over the dream house, we have to recognize that there is huge amounts of poverty in this country that isn't addressed. If I won the dream house, I'd sell up, pay the taxes, walk away with a substantial amount of savings, give up work and become a foster parent.
