/Film : Michael Bay vs. McG

I love Bay's reaction. It just further proves that the "cool stuff" is his only real reason to make the movie, and the human quality doesn't come into play until much, much later. Terminator beats the everloving shit out of Transformers.

I never saw the original, so I have no basis for comparison. But just as a movie all its own, it looks pretty damn good!

/Film : Rob Zombie to Direct Halloween Sequel H2

I happened to like both the original and the remake for different reasons. However, the sequel? I mean... the ending to the last one sort of made that look impossible. Does Mike have to come back as an undead monster now? It's going to run into some of the same reasons as to why I dislike most of the original Halloween sequels. It just became way too supernatural and thinned out. Ugh...

/Film : X-Men Origins: Wolverine Movie Trailer - What Do You Think?

Wow, a lot of negativity going around, but I thought the trailer itself looked great. The story looks interesting and the prospect of seeing Gambit and Sabertooth is exciting. The "flying" looks like Logan propelled himself up from an exploding vehicle. I'm assuming there's a little more to it than him just jumping up like he's Superman. Personally, I liked it.

/Film : Twilight Author Stephanie Meyer Speaks on Hardwicke's Departure and New Moon Director Chris Wei

God, that letter just sounded like pure fellatio to the Twatlight fandom. And not in a respectable sense either- like he just laid himself down on a giant, rusty knife and said "Okay, I'm done." It's one thing to know your audience, but usually the good film/television storytellers don't set out to just do exactly what the fans want them to. And they end up better off for it.

DB and DBZ are the same manga story. Regardless of which ideas came first, that's no longer relavent. And they were still flying in cars and talking to dinosaurs in DB anyway. See above. And below.

In the source material, Goku is a drawing, and every character on the whole show is drawn with relatively the same style, including the aliens and "westerners". I mean, the myth that Dragonball is (loosely) based upon is actually chinese, the manga/anime being japanese, and there are blonde people that look the same as every other character in regard to facial features (and I'm not talking about Goku when he powers up). White people can have dark hair and eyes too. The race of one actor just seems like such a strange thing to complain about, in a film that will undoubtedly have many problems that are much bigger and more offensive than THAT.

"The origin of his name." Not every film character named David is one who fights a giant named Goliath. Regardless of whether or not Dragonball took inspiration from The Monkey King, it is not The Monkey King, which was my point.

But Goku isn't literally that character. He's not even from Earth. He comes from an alien warrior race. I mean, this is also the story where animals can talk and act like humans and dinosaurs still exists, while people drive around in flying cars.

I'm confused as to why you're assuming Zuko would actually be blonde in the movie. They can easily change that if they wish. And the show is not on Earth as we know it. Last I checked, there was no such thing as the four elemental nations, certainly not in any asian territory. They have completely non-terrestrial animals in the show. It's a fantasy story, which just happens to take inspiration from asian culture. There would be nothing wrong with more asian castmembers, but their absence doesn't mean the movie is being destroyed. That's crazy talk.
