Totally in agreement. You're really over the target here. You would almost never see Hogan on "Superstars" or "Challenge" or "Prime Time" ecept for once or twice a year, usually against lesser opposition (I seem to recall watching him against Boriso Zhukov one Saturday morning and my big brothers and I went nuts). If you were lucky, you would see him five times a year or so on "Saturday Night's Main Event" in addition to the pay per views which were a lot less frequent in the late 80s. This helped ensure he could keep doing what he did--though as you note it got stale. With Cena, Reigns, etc. on at least once a week, they get stale much quicker than Hogan ever did.

Point taken about how a lot of UFC fighters spent decades training. Having said that, I thought Punk would have been better with the conditioning after 3 years. He was out of gas by the second round and it showed.

Bret Hart had something like that going right after Savage became a face. Even when Jimmy Hart was the manager, the Hart Foundation--the HItman in particular--were pretty popular. Demolition had something like that going on, at least when they made their debut in WWF, and that may have been why they decided to do the face-heel swap with Powers of Pain.

Some great choices, especially the legendary El Santo and the always charming Lord Alfred Hayes.

Agreed. Tito is often an excellent columnist who is entertaining and insightful. I think his shtick can take over--much to his own and to his readers' detriment.

"How do you like me know? Do you like them apples?"

Boasts are often undermined by not proofreading. Can you hear me "know?" Of course not. Can you hear me "now?" Much better.

"You'll never find a column that is hard hitting, has the courage to call things out, and to also make forecasts well ahead of anyone."

Does that include your own column? Since you use "never" here, it clearly does. We will spend our lives lacking columns that are "hard hitting" with "the courage to call things out" and the abilities to "make forecasts well ahead of anyone." Did you mean to write "You'll never find a column like mine" or "a column like this one" that will be "hard hitting" and so on?

As you so often note, you have been on this site for almost two decades. That doesn't mean you are a perfect writer who is free from mistakes. Every writer needs a proofreader or copy editor. You'd be better served to have one even IF they CHANGE your WRITING when YOU decide to IGNORE the basic rules of ENGLISH.

I appreciate the thoughtful and professional response even as neither of us changed our opinions. It's refreshing to see a columnist here respond to points in an agreeable manner and I hope some of your peers take notes. Thanks for all your efforts and your reply.

I'm not a Jarrett fan but this column is laying it on a bit too much.

"The one thing I always noticed about Jarrett was his ability to get himself into the position that would get him the most screen-time."

That explains his main event run in WWF, right? Oh wait....

"Enter Total Non-Stop Action Wrestling, a new venture by Jeff and his father that managed to leech onto the once prominent but now struggling NWA."

Uh....no. TNA was the stronger partner there over the NWA. Outside a few die hards who hated WCW eclipsing NWA more than a decade before, the NWA brand meant nothing, especially with no TV contract.

"Despite never becoming what Jarrett envisioned them to be, TNA brought in some of the biggest talent in professional wrestling, from Sting to Kurt Angle to Hulk Hogan and more. They made household names out of guys like AJ Styles, Christopher Daniels, James Storm and Bobby Roode; wrestlers whose talents were showcased probably to the largest audience they had seen up to that point. Yet with all that talent, TNA continued to find ways to fail, with lackluster ratings and poor business decisions. An ill-advised attempt to go head to head with the WWE ended quickly. Money became an issue, with stories of building debt and late paychecks, but somehow Jeff and company managed to roll on, securing funds time after time to keep TNA afloat."

Yes, yes, Jeff Jarrett ran TNA that whole time, right? Didn't think so.

"What do you think dear readers? Is Jeff Jarrett a great businessman, or just a shameless self-promoter?"

So the headline indicates one thing.....but the article limps into a "well, what do you think" conclusion.

Look, I think you can easily take Jarrett apart for GWF but you are missing some of the biggest issues. Is GWF a real company? Was Gloabal Force Gold basically a way to scam people out of cash? There have even been charges that GWF is running a pyramid scheme. That is far more powerful ammo than just the random and often simply incorrect points raised here.

"WWE has zero tolerance for matters involving domestic violence, and per our policy, Jerry Lawler has been suspended indefinitely following his arrest."

So does that apply to someone who pleads no contest to domestic violence and pays the fines and does the community service? Nope. Stone Cold was at WrestleMania earlier this year. So much for "zero tolerance."
