Finally someone said Futurama. As the resident fanboy I held my tongue, luckily someone else brought them up. Your argument is sound abg. [Salutes]

It's actually a really fun/funny show, I know it well, but I also, like Mr. Saul, know it still has a limited following. Worth your time though.

The fact that most people reading your comment would say "Michael and Fi? Who the hell are they and what show are they from?" suggests that they're not really one of the most notable couples. Then, include the detail that the show they are from (Burn Notice) list them as ex-couples and never really makes any real progress getting them back together (until just recently, this season) and their omission from the list makes more sense than their inclusion ever could.

Well they're both still hanging around for a few episodes apiece - though admittedly rarely ever in the same episode. I think the producers are experimenting with "Is it still Scrubs if JD isn't always there? How about Turk? How about Elliot?"

Those relationships come and go, all the couples in this list actually have a bit of depth. The scrubs suggestion was valid though.

Agree with you on both counts Carlos. I'd say he's another one of the few child actors who benefited and learned from his early experiences in show business how to comport himself in light of his situation. He is indeed admirable.

JustPressPlay : Never Back Down

That's a horrible rationale. By saying "the target audience was teenagers to young adult" you're implying that awful movies can't be critiqued if they're aimed at a certain demographic. Or, that films targeted at specific demographics deserve special leeway. Now, in terms of children's movies that's certainly true. But Never Back Down follows in a long tradition within which a set standard of good and bad exists. Never Back Down falls quite squarely in the bad. That doesn't mean teens won't enjoy it (because they also enjoy every awful slasher film that comes out), it just means teens enjoy it because they don't know better.

JustPressPlay : The Haunted Airman

In this case when they were created matters less than when they're showcased. In the case of Haunted Airman it had a TV appearance in the UK in 2006, but for the American audience (the primary demographic of this site) it's getting its DVD release post-Twilight (night?) and consequently IS measured against that unfortunate standard. If, before starring in the first Harry Potter, Daniel Radcliffe had been in a taped version of Equus rather than a live one and it wasn't released for DVD consumption until after his first Harry Potter film was released - it would be analyzed in quite the same way. How a film is consumed in terms of a star's progression has as much to do with its date of creation as its original date of exhibition. Even if we considered in its UK context, then all that changes is that we call it a precursor instead of an unfortunately clingy follow-up - either way the film is still quite shallow and never develops its own set of wings. Now, whether its a fledgling film destined to hop along until it can piggyback on Twilight's success (what is happening in the UK) or a "new" film that never quite speaks for itself and relies on the wings Twilight's fame gives to its primary star (what is happening in the US), The Haunted Airman doesn't have the strength to fly on its own merits. It's essentially the kid who's flying for free because its dad purchased an adult ticket.

JustPressPlay : The World is Ending... Somebody Call Adam Lambert!

Whoa whoa whoa. I appreciate you coming in guns ablazin' to defend your beloved Lambert, but to liken him to Robert Plant - or even more undeservedly, Freddie Mercury - crosses boundaries of human decency and respect. Shame on you. Fandom should know its respective limits.

Hahah, wow. Y'know, I'd never actually even thought to look at how the film spells it - because when people say it (assuming they practice proper grammar) they say "dwarves". But hot dang if it is fact "Dwarfs"...I wonder if Disney has any intention of ever changing that name.
