Your Daily Word : Everything is Permissible but Not Everything is Beneficial

These scriptures point out that, more than just refraining from wrong doing, we want to use our time to good. In my life I've noticed that only as I spend time in relationship with God, in His presence, do I have any real idea of what is best.

Dementia for 2 : May This Never Happen Again

I am so sad to read this. I'm a California licensed nursing home administrator; so this is my world that you're speaking about here. A world where too frequently too many people do not care as they should. In every nursing home I've ever been in or seen, CNAs are assigned specific patients-so clearly someone specific was at fault. But the rule of thumb in the world of nursing homes is that if you see a problem, and you're not already taking care of a patient with a problem as important or worse, then you take care of it. Common decency requires this. I would suggest a written note from you to the administrator of this facility. Make sure that if there's anything good you can say that you mention that, but the administrator needs to be aware that this type thing is going on so it can be addressed.

Dementia for 2 : No Rest for the Weary

Sounds like you've been in overwhelm mode more than rebellious. You've had SO MUCH going on. Glad to read that God is calling you to Himself to refresh and nourish you. I adore the way Matthew 11:28 reads in The Message Paraphrase: "Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me. Get away with me and you'll recover your life. I'll show you how to take a real rest. Walk with me and work with me—watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won't lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you'll learn to live freely and lightly."

Whenever I'm orienting new employees I encourage them to find prospective dates elsewhere; typically it causes problems at work and who needs the drama.

Dementia for 2 : Does God Understand Why I Say Such Things?

Miss Crystal makes a great point; about the fact that your grandma is in the time/space in her life, when asking about her husband when he was alive. I'm also thinking that people lied in the Bible who were considered OK. Like when Rehab lied about the location of the spies. I'm not saying that sin is relative, but I am saying that the lines are not always clear cut in the way we try to make them to feel comfortable. I think it's about the spirit of the law vrs the letter. So in your case, you are not trying to deceive your Grandma but want to give her peace as much as you can. As far as what your reflection on this issue says about you - it says that you love God and want to please Him above all else. BTW - Forget me nots are one of my favorite flowers
