DEBATEitOUT.com : Does the government spend too much money on NASA?

Indeed we should fund this together on an individual basis voluntarily and not by the point of a gubment gun.

DEBATEitOUT.com : How would marijuana affect the U.S. economy if legalized?

I agree. The obvious logical conclusion is to legalize all drugs. We could then actually start working on the real problems like addiction and crimes that cause real harms. I suppose you would agree to prohibit by law the use of coffee, sugar, cigarettes, alcohol, and other gateway substances since use of these substances has been shown to lead to more powerful "stuff". More to your point, legalizing a "gateway" substance should actually lower the urge to move on to a stronger substance that would be illegal since one would no longer have to deal with the criminal element to acquire the "gateway" substance.

Legalizing marijuana would naturally allow funneling of profits from criminals that don't mind breaking the law anyway to law-abiding entrepreneurs. This would bankrupt the monstrous illicit trafficking military "gangs" that harm so many. Of course, we will never completely get rid of this type of blight but surely we can have so much better than what exists today.

DEBATEitOUT.com : Is abortion morally acceptable?

What about the will of the carried child? Should we consider that?

Pregnancy can be caused by terrible acts, but why blame the fetus and punish it because of a woman's selfishness.

Abstinence can not fail. I wonder what the "unwanted" children would answer if asked if they should have been aborted.

Our task is to protect life from direct harm, which abortion is. We do all answer for our own sins, but we should also strive to do our best while alive. With all due respect, abortion just seems to be an easy fix instead of doing one's best.

DEBATEitOUT.com : Will there ever be a cure for cancer?

Yes. That is Jared's strawman...doctors that don't get rewarded for coming up with treatments/cures. He created this to say that profits will not drive cures. And no facts were given to back him up.

DEBATEitOUT.com : Is crime good for society?

Indeed I am referring to Frederic Bastiat. It is a fallacy to consider only the benefits from crime prevention/clean up when discussing crime's consequences. The resources used for this activity could have likely been better used for something else more constructive. So, crime actually makes us all poorer by channeling limited resources to less constructive activities than they would have been otherwise.

DEBATEitOUT.com : Is abortion morally acceptable?

My point is, when applied abstinence is much better at preventing pregnancy than contraception. Is it so unrealistic to expect someone to practice abstinence? If the fact that abstinence is 100% and contraception is not in preventing pregnancy is taught at least they will know their chances for whatever choice is chosen.

DEBATEitOUT.com : Does society have a right to put someone to death?

As individuals we do not have the right to kill somone except in self-defense of imminent danger. Any killing after the fact is revenge. If I do not posses the right how can I grant the right to my government or to sociey. I can not. Therefore, society can not possess the right to kill someone as a punishment.

I get to decide what I consider just. If it must be decided between differing opinions, the best way to decide is a jury of one's peers. This is the best way, not necessarily the most just way.

I have never heard of someone practicing abstinence getting pregnant. It is quite impossible. Just like abstinence, contraception can be taught but it is up to the individual to actually put it into practice. When practiced abstinence beats contraception hands down.

Taking out someone's heart is a medical procedure, too, but someone can be murdered in this way. Who wants to agree with the "status quo" anyway? ;-) Yes. Why punish the fetus and deny it the same opportunities as you, namely LIFE, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. Why should a 10-year old girl hurt from pain if someone beats her or why should her arm fall off if someone cuts it off? Sometimes the nature of things doesn't match up with niceties.
