West Ham Till I Die : Jack Collison: The Harbinger of Better Times!

Given Scottie Parker's comments in the press yesterday about West Ham feeling like home, and the fact that he signed a new 4 year contract earlier this season, the solution, should we go down, is blindingly obvious to me. Lend him to Arsenal on a season long loan with a commitment that he could leave permanently, if we did not come straight back up and if he wanted to go. That would mean: a) he would not have to move his family; b) he would get both Premier League, Champions League and (hopefully) on-going England experience; c) We would still own him but not need to pay his wages for the season; and d) We would be able to pull him back towards the end of the season, if we needed him, to help in the final push for re-promotion etc, Anyone got a number for Brady or Gollivan so I can suggest this to them?

West Ham Till I Die : Vote: Player Performances v Blackpool

I am inclined to agree with you re the booing off of our own players. But I am more disappointed that LBM saw fit to respond to that which goaded the crowd on even more. As far as I am concerned, he should never pull on a West Ham shirt again.

West Ham Till I Die : Vote: Player Performances v WBA

The problem last night was not the players (well except for Boa Morte and, I am very sad to say, Ilunga), but the system. Or rather the lack of a clear one. With Dyer and Barrera both out there, it was screaming for 4-4-2 with them using their pace wide on the wings. Instead we line up trying to play 4-3-3, with Dyer too far back and too central to be effective at all and Piquionne completely out of sorts on the right wing). I am now with other people on here in that I think Grant has one last chance on Saturday to start showing he knows what he is doing; otherwise I think he needs to go. Only problem it, I really don't know who I would even think of replacing him with. On a positive note, I am with SkinnyChris on being extremely pleased to see Dyer last the full 90 minutes and Thank God for Scott Parker! COYI!!!!!!!!!

West Ham Till I Die : A Noble Victory!

Sorry to disagree Roy, but I don't care if Noble spends the rest of the season anchored in the middle of the park as long as he keeps making the sort of passes which have been incisively openning up other teams so far this season. Alas the people on the other end of most of them (last night excepted) have not been able to finish the job.

West Ham Till I Die : Why is Scott Parker Not Selected to Play for England?

I agree with chrischris. The only reason Parker isn't playing for England is because Capello doesn't really have a clue what he is doing. End of!

I agree with all posters on here who say there was a lot to be positive about from Saturday, despite the loss. For the first time in a long time we had real pace and width up the flanks in Dyer/Barerra: it is just a shame that we didn't still have either Franco or Ilan to get on the end of the chances they created; which I think were more numerous in 45 minutes than in any 90 I can remember from last season. I also think we were looking pretty solid at the back until Upson was forced off (first 10 mins aside) and that Upson personally was having his best game for a long while. Just a shame that Davis' gamesmanship (it certainly wasn't sportsmanship) won out for them in the end. Here's hoping we can nick a couple of points out of our next few really tough games without major loss of morale and then kick on from there. COYI!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

West Ham Till I Die : Keeping Boa Morte is a Retrograde Step

I think Boa has heart, integrity and something to prove. And I am pleased he has signed for two more years. Even Zola said what a miss he was for us last season.

West Ham Till I Die : It's Full Steam Ahead for Grant, as Interest Increases in Ilan

I think Gold's comments on Green are sensible given that a) Capello has banned any England player from discussing contracts during the World Cup and b) if he does give a good showing his value may rise significantly.

West Ham Till I Die : Manager Shortlist Revealed?

Fully agree Ironsider. The way the double-Ds treated Zola was an absolute disgrace. And if Allardyce is in, then sadly, I am definitely out and will not be renewing my season ticket until fatman and dobbin have left the building.

West Ham Till I Die : Zola Fired

Sad to see him go. And if reports are true that SuGo used breach of contract for some of his post match comments as a pretext to avoid having to pay him full compensation, then it is an f'ing disgrace IMHO. Good luck Franco, wherever you go.

West Ham Till I Die : Paying Tribute to Tony Carr

I disagree. Spector wasn't too bad when he deputised for Faubert at right back; but at left back is completely exposed. For me, Kovac is, by some considerable margin, the worst player we have (ever had?). I would even go as far to say we would have done better if he had been playing for the opposition as an extra man without us replacing him.

West Ham Till I Die : A Message from Gianfranco Zola

Some of us always had faith that LBM would eventually show his detractors and the, sadly increasing, WHBBB (West Ham Boo Boy Brigade) his real worth given the opportunity and a bit of encouragement to do so. I sincerely hope the same is true of our manager. I used to be proud of the unity of our supporters and the fact that we supported are team/manager whatever our fortunes. Sadly I can no longer say that and think a lot of our so-called "supporters" should be ashamed of themselves - or p.off to "support" Spurs/Chelsea. I am "West Ham Till I Die" and will SUPPORT my team through thick and thin. I do not think the fact that I pay to go watch them gives me any right to expect any more of them than if I hadn't. COYI !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
