I know that not everyone is irresponsible, but I have yet to meet someone who acts sensibly on one of these machines. Maybe this was just an accident. However, there is definitely an attitude of impudence prevalent amongst most riders I've seen. But you are right, I shouldn't wish ill will upon anyone--it is just difficult for me to feel sorry for the types who put themselves in harm's way (and by the way, riding on uncertain terrain at night *is* very dangerous).
