We have a police department more interested in contracting with outside camera companies to generate revenue than policing their community and allowing businesses to operate safely.

Says a lot about what Cedar Rapids has become.

If MidAmerican electric customers want to pay for this multi-billion dollar plant, fine. I have no problems with the Palo site.

But don't make Alliant customers pay for another nuke. Right now we are paying 60% more than MidAm customers for electricity. That's hundreds of dollars per year more for the average Joe. We can't afford any more.

To those nuclear proponents, the plant MidAmerican is exploring building in Iowa is projected to cost 3 to 4 BILLION dollars. Yes, that's billion with a B.

They are trying to figure out how customers would even begin to pay for it without experiencing "rate shock" on their bills.

Iowa Electric customers paid the highest rates in the state since the 70s thanks mostly to the Duane Arnold plant, which was going to provide electricity too cheap to meter. LOL

That's why I don't talk to or even acknowledge children I don't know.

The "every stranger is a threat" John Walsh mentality has taken over...while the truth is that the vast majority of children are abducted/abused/molested by people they already know and trust.
