The FAA Follies : August 3rd...

I must disagree with TrainRider. I am retired from the FAA now, but was a charter member of NATCA and always involved. I worked with numerous PATCO brothers during my career and found them all to be great individuals. After I retired I worked for a few months in Philadelphia with the "boots on the ground" campaign with Bob and Valerie Butterworth. Two harder workers you will never find. They were big time activists in PATCO (Bob was thrown in jail during the strike) and they continue to be great activists on behalf on NATCA. They have both forgotten more about union activism, brotherhood and solidarity then I ever knew. They were both very gracious to me. I submit we in the air traffic profession owe PATCO a great debt.

The FAA Follies : Our Pal Marion

No respect for Blakey from me either! On another note - I salute all my PATCO brethren on this infamous day in labor history. I envy their courage and solidarity. We stand on their shoulders. Meanwhile only 50% of current NATCA members bothered to vote in the last national election. Considering you can vote from your computer how much dedication does it really take to make your voice heard? Come on people! I hope to see a much higher percentage in the run off.
