If your premise is that the President went to Europe to introduce himself and make friends with the population it would appear that your assessment is correct. If however the expected result was for American to get support in Afganistan there appears to be no difference between Obama and Bush, they both came home empty handed. Of course President Obama's strong response to North Korea will most certainly be a deterrent for any country that wants to do us harm in the future.

It would appear that we have all forgotten our values and principles here. This is not about which party has muddled this country up the most, or for that matter whose fault it is that we are in this mess. If we each could take the log out of our own eye we would discover that there is more than enough blame to go around. Perhaps we all would be best served if we would stop shouting at each other and calling names and figure out what we agree on. I assume that the folks on this site are here because we love our country. Do you think that we can start our conversation from here and agree that there are some things that we need to address?

I hope that you will take the opportunity to use your position to redirect the GOP towards "Saying what you mean and meaning what you say". The American people have disconnected from the political process because they believe that no matter what they say or do they will not be heard. As leader of the Republican Party, you have the opportunity to stand for clearly defined principals and values. If you say what you mean and mean what you say around these values, the American people will respond. I am fed up with politicians. I want principled people to represent me that have life experience (an actual job) not lifetime politicians that know nothing about the real world. Mr. Steele, you have an opportunity to make history. Be bold the American people will support you if you will stand for well-defined principals.

Their is a desperate need for educating our society about how our government works and what "We the People" can mean within that framework. If the GOP really wants to succeed, then put an educational program together that involves politicians at all levels interacting with the people. Focus on educating not campaigning. A majority of the population does not know who Nancy Pelosi is or for that matter what she does. What a great opportunity to show people how true principals and values were used by the Founders of this country to create the Constitution and how the Constitution continues to be applicable today. The GOP has an opportunity to teach folks to think for themselves and be empowered to stand up for their believes. A word of caution, the only way that the GOP will be believed is if they "clean their own house" and insure that their representatives actions always represent the core values that they claim to believe.

The Republican Party needs to clearly define their platform. What happened to equality for all? One of the things that need to clearly be defined is gay marriage. While I do not condone gay marriage, it is very apparent that their needs to be protection for folks that dedicate their lives to each other. I understand that this is a slippery slope, however there are gay people who have spent their lives together that are denied the right to sit with their loved one when they are dying because they lack authority as a spouse. This is a ludicrous. If the GOP is truly faith based then everything they stand for should be representative of those values.

Here is a novel thought, support the Fair Tax. If the GOP has truly gotten the message, then you need to give the power back to the people. As long as politicians can campaign on 95% tax cuts and frighten voters into believing Social Security is going to be taken away the Republicans will continually be forced to defend themselves. Imagine a campaign where politicians are forced to talk about their values and principals and their life experiences rather than making empty promises.

I have just finished the poll that was sent via e-mail. I found it to be biased, using questions that can only give the answer that you seek. If you truly want to know what the American population is thinking you and your staff should be watching websites like The912project.com and American Solutions. People are loudly stating what they want, is the GOP listening?

If the Republican Party is going to survive, it needs to clean its own house! Take a page from Sarah Palin’s playbook and expose the people that have taken advantage of their position, make sure that they are stripped of their power and sent packing. Move to reform our federal government by enforcing the Constitution. The GOP is powerful; legally challenge the laws that are being passed that are so obviously outside of the government’s Constitutional authority, including the Executive Branches activities. When you are done cleaning your own house, actively seek out diverse, honorable, and principled people (not career politicians and lawyers) to run for office and financially support them.

CFF I see that you are new here so perhaps you missed that this page is intended to begin to build a cohesive set of objectives that we can use to direct our legisilatures. The benefit of term limits is to allow more people like Ron Paul to serve this country. People like Ron Paul will find productive ways to support this nation after his term is over. People become complacent and out of touch when they are in the same quagmire for many years.
