Zelda Universe : North American box art for The Wind Waker HD revealed

If Nintendo is smart with the way they innovate, then we'll be fine. I believe Nintendo is capable of implementing fresh new ideas to keep the Zelda series going strong. However, you're right in a sense: if Nintendo tries to "innovate" by taking elements from other popular games like The Elder Scrolls, it's not going to turn out well and we're all screwed. I strongly hope that this won't happen. Despite this, we shouldn't reject change. If the Zelda series stagnates, that's what will really be the death of it.

While I agree that the adventure aspect of Zelda games is best suited to solo play, allowing for co-op would add a whole new level of depth to the puzzles. What I would like to see is something along the lines of Portal 2, with a full single-player story mode and a puzzle-heavy 2-player mode. I pretty much think it would have to be two separate modes - obviously Nintendo wouldn't make co-op required, and I think that doing puzzles designed for one player would be pretty boring with two players.

Zelda Universe : Wii U skeptic

Personally, I have faith in Nintendo. I doubt that they will make such grave marketing errors as Hombre suggests. And since I can't do anything about it, my only option is to have confidence that Nintendo won't release a console that's crap.

Zelda Universe : Zelda not getting any better according to Kotaku

The problem with making Zelda ass-kickingly hard again is that Nintendo caters to the casual market. You may not like it, but it's true. Making Zelda as you suggest would alienate a large group of people, the demographic who actually own the Wii system. I agree with many of your points, such as making the world bigger and the story less linear. However, I think the story should stay, as story is SO important for keeping me immersed in a game. Ocarina is one of my favorite Zelda games, and I think the original Zelda is pretty meh. So there's my opinion. All in all, reading critiques like this makes me pretty depressed. It makes me think that my favorite series of games is actually crap. Oh well.

Zelda Universe : Ocarina of Time takes third in the greatest video game endings

That's what I thought. Wasn't the ending to that almost exactly the same as that of the original Super Mario Bros (and almost all subsequent Mario games)?

Zelda Universe : Looking back at The Legend of Zelda: Valley of the Flood

I really wish we could have a Zelda game with a more expansive narrative. A darker and more detailed story coupled with Zelda's naturally enthralling gameplay would be able to create a truly magical experience. Unfortunately, I don't see it happening anytime in the near future.

Zelda Universe : Wii U to feature NFC technology and what this could mean for Zelda

I wholeheartedly disagree with getting 60% of the game when you buy the disk for $50, then having to pay another $30 to get the rest. It's different if it's DLC that they keep working on after the game is released, but they absolutely shouldn't just leave things out so you have to buy them separately from the disk.

Zelda Universe : Sheikah Hoodie Giveaway

If I could harness the power of the Ocarina, I would not squander it. After collecting all three Spiritual Stones, I would enter the Temple of Time and play the Song of Time, so that I could gain access to the Master Sword's chamber. I would walk up, slowly and dramatically, and remove the blade from its pedestal. Then, wielding the Blade of Evil's Bane, I would valiantly slay all of the evil semester finals in the land! After my heroic deed was done, and all of the homework and tests were sealed in the Sacred Realm forever, I would return to the majestic Temple of Time. It's purpose fulfilled, I would thrust the Master Sword back into its altar, where it would silently rest forevermore.

Zelda Universe : Skyward Sword vs. Skyrim again, both lose

Is he basing his opinion of these games on how they compare to other games in the series'? Maybe Skyrim and Skyward Sword aren't as good as previous games (although most people would disagree), but is that what he bases his opinions of the individual games on? I just don't see how anyone could actually dislike Skyward Sword or Skyrim by themselves.
