AndroidGuys : Newbtorial: How to Keep the Zip in Your Android

Maybe I missed it when going through the manual but wouldn't it be solved by adding an option to quit the running application when long-pressing the back button?

@Musclenerd: Since you're writing about "this weeks tool" on twitter - which obvioiusly means PwnageTool and redsn0w - does that mean that ultrasn0w will be released next week or within next 2 weeks? To avoid any misunderstandings: I'd be 100% fine with that and I'm not asking for an ETA but if you'd say ultrasn0w is to be released within next 2 weeks I'd stop putting load on the site by hitting refresh every 15 mins ... ;-)

Updated yesterday from 0.9.6. to 0.9.7. and it works like before. I'm using BB 02.28.00. I have the feeling that it's working better than before, with 0.9.6. the "Phone/Airplane" toggle on SBSettings used to be turned off but having full signal. But maybe it was an issue with SBSettings itself. Anyway 0.9.7. works like before here in Austria (3 AT; locked to TMO)

Hehe, know what you mean. I'm also good in finding reasons why I would really need the new hardware from Apple and why it's not so expensive at all ... I can remember me sitting here on new years eve and waiting for initial 3G unlock. Maybe I'm only to talk with tis kind of distance to the ip2t thing since I'm no ip2t user and don't really need it so badly ...

Well spoken. I really don't understand the panic around here. The video showed that they are a big step forward but far away from releasing anything usable (at least usable for the most of us - including me). Beside the fact that it would be illegal. So, I'm also kind of addicted when it comes to refreshing the page every 2mins once we've been told the final release date and doing all this funny riddle games but what's going here right now is just weird. Obviously nobody wants to believe that it will take much longer to release the final version than they would like to ...

Hmm, hope you're right. My point was not a technical one. I watched the video and it sounded like there's more work to do (without having an idea about the real technical obstacles to circumvent). So, let me put it in this way: I just don't feel it coming ;-) There has been too less cryptic hints and riddles about the JB progress ... I short words: I'm missing the we-really-did-it riddle/game. The pics on redsn0w.com were just initiating the rumors, I think there's more to come ... I think they like this game and will continue playing it (means keeping us up-to-date and put some wooden sticks into the glowing coal)

Well, I hope you're right, but don't think so. They had a "working" yellowsn0w 3 weeks before releasing it (at least it was working with the SIM they had). I think there will be a short note on the day they are going to release it to make the crowd go wild again (and have fun in page-refreshing-actions).

I think it will be 1-2 weeks. As you might have noticed Musclenerd is saying in the video that they have to make the jailbreak permanent. It didn't sound if they'd already have a solution for this one ... Having said that, add a few days for building all together into a (Quick)Pwnage tool and add an unknown amount of days for making the jailbreak permanent you'll get your ETA. At least that's my personal estimate ... Prepare for a longer waiting period and be happy if it doesn't take so long.

I think they said their target is to make it jailbreak via QuickPwn or Pwnage tool, which you can get from this site here (at least the links to download). So I guess they'll follow that scheme ...

I don't want to demotivate you guys waiting for the ipt2 jailbreak but after watching Musclenerds video I think ETA for releasing the jailbreak is a matter of weeks not of days ... Edit: Don't get me wrong, the faster and more stable they're going to release it the faster they can put time again into 3G permanent unlock. But in my case that is really only for seeing that and how it is working as yellowsn0w is working pretty fine ...
