Well the Game Boy version was nice though, unfortunately shades of grey make a bad rainbow and thats why nobody boght it. Also Konami killed the franchise before the GBC came out...

But then again Pikachu's Trainer is completely useless, sso I guess it makes some sense, as Pokemon are not able to show any kind of own initiative as long as the Trainer is around, if I were Pikachu I would say "F*ck you Ash!" and defeat my opponents LIKE A BOSS!

If it were RED bringing a Lvl 99. Pikachu, it would be a entirely different thing though.

After cheking my Pokedex (it is full, so insert "forever alone" face here) I don't really see a maggot Pokemon as we would understand a maggot (you know these disgusting white worms), they are more like caterpillars or smaller bugs while their evolved forms.
