Administrator.

I have posted about 3 intended helpful comments that were "reviewed by admin" and never posted. There was nothing controversial about them. If some rules were broken (too long, URL included, etc.) it would be helpful to learn the "Rules" rather than just see them "vanish".

Please let me know where I erred, so it will not be done in the future.

Follow this sequence on your iPhone:

Settings/General/About/

Read "Version" number. It will Read 3.1.X. "Model" and "Modem Firmware" should also be written down.

I have seen a number of videos showing Google's "Android" running on an iPhone. Seemed cumbersome to boot and run, but actual "Droid" phones seem to have some interesting features.

There does not appear to be any discussion on this add-on (still runs iPhone OS). Is this just "hacked" demos, or is it available and useful on the iphone?

iPhone 3G update:

Be sure what iPhone you are using, or what baseband. Mine is a 3G - NOT a 3GS.

It has been upgraded to Version 3.1.3, with Modem Firmware (bootloader) 04.26.08.

You do NOT need saved SHSH on a 3G.

Only software used was Pwnage with iPhone1,2_3.1.3_7E18_Custom_Restore.ipsw an update and and Ultrasn0w unlock posted on iClarified with step-by-step instructions and video. All at NO cost.

These programs are from the Dev-Team! and work fine.

ovscarh24,

Please do not take this a a criticism, or negative reply. Merely an attempt to clarify communication.
There are many languages spoken on this site, however you would get more replies from the majority of users if your questions were in English.

I know that there are those who resent the many posts from members with iPhone software problems, when the ANSWER for your issue - even if it's "not yet', is probably somewhere on this list. Amongst 8,000 posts, finding it is another question. But you may have trouble locating the applicable correspondence.

Caution, he applicable correspondence requires a knowledge of what your firmware and software versions are, and a knowledge of the terms used that are not the same name as appears on your phone "General" list.

iClarified also offers good tutorials, but you have to know where you are, what you want to accomplish before any non-real time conversation would be useful without EXACT descriptions of your currently configured iPhone.

There are many who refer seekers to "read the posts". A "SEARCH" feature would eliminate the frustration at finding the answer to your questions, published herein. Both the good, the bad, and the ugly < ;- )

Luck,
Tiger

Off-Topic and personal:

Great upside down type in name. I was able to copy/paste it into a text document and it came through

dıɹʇp@ǝɥ

I would certainly like to know how to do that for other uses.

Thanks,

Steve

DrumsPlus,

While I understand the need to learn, and the dismay of those who want yo to research everyone's post, there are over 9,000 of them now. Many are not looking for a history lesson, or wish to sort through problems/posts that do not address one's concern. It is great to have all the historical records, but even the Library of Congress has a filing system that allows narrowing the volumes to those close to your interest.

A "Search" capability would allow one to focus their reading. As would the use of the identifying numbers on the phone should be used instead of "new words". e.g.,

Version = Firmware (mine is 3.1.3 (7E18)
Modem Firmware = Baseband? (mine is 04.26.08)
Early 3G ? = (mine is S/N 85R394XXXXX
Model = (mine is MB720LL)

The Problem with Communication is the Illusion it has been acheived!

I know that there are those who resent the many posts from members with iPhone software problems, when the ANSWER for your issue - even if it's "not yet'. Unfortunately the answer to your situation IS in this thread, but you may have trouble locating the applicable correspondence. The applicable correspondence requires a knowledge of what your firmware and software versions are, and a knowledge of the terms used that are not the same name as appears on your phone "General" list.

Click on my name, and see one path. iClarified also offers god tutorials, but you have to know where you are, what you want to accomplish before any non-real time conversation would be useful without EXACT descriptions of your currently configured iPhone.
