I had someone lose her cool at me in the bakery this morning when I asked her to stand farther behind me on the actual 6 foot away bright yellow tape line. Apparently I should "mind my own business". She was not convinced when I responded that my health was my business, but the woman behind her in line was giving me a thumbs up, so at least weird aggressive older lady was in the minority (and she was wearing a face covering thankfully)

I've also been passing on mine, even though so far our current covid case number is low. I have done marches and protests several times since 2016, and it just, I don't know, I feel like it's not the thing for me. I feel like I'm showing up just to show up? I don't know if that makes sense. So right now I'm doing a lot of reading, set up some recurring donations, and looking for a group that needs masks sewn or something I can do at home with my ridiculous fabric stash or something along those lines. Getting my head in the right space to contact elected officials too.

That article by Robin DiAngelo is really good, definitely thought provoking, and helpful for me as someone who doesn't feel okay with going to in person protests during the pandemic. I feel like it has given me some good tools to work on myself for inevitable discussions with family and others about race stuff.
