I would like to add, I am no longer going to refer to Obama as "President"

The 2nd amendment (guns) was put in place because the King of England was a tyrant and ... well
Read the Declaration of Independance.
Anyhow, the 2nd amendment was put into place to ensure the people were able to resist a tyrannical government.
In Boston just before the revolution the Brittish disarmed the people. Fortunately, some hid their guns rather than surrender them. If this had not been the case there would be no USA.
In Germany, before Hitler began to get really nasty, they did the same thing... only this time the people complied.
History has been the judge on both counts. It will be again.
Please watch the HBO miniseries John Adams for a good look at the events leading up to the American Revolution.

I am sorry.
There is a scientific principal called entropy.
It can be demonstrated thusly...
Clean your home, put everything in its place... then, ignore it.
As time goes on, things become more disorganised and chaotic.
Just like these threads.
They start out well intentioned, and some even help to keep it on track.
But, it usually ends up as a debate between a "troll" and those foolish enough to spar with them.
This disrupts the entire thread and makes it difficult to create a train of thought, or any cohesion.
It is a movement with ADHD.
I truly AM sorry.
But, this just sucks.

Mr. Glen Beck, was this your vision on how to fix this country?
I am afraid, that rather than seeing unity... I see a microcosim of our collapse.
I am seeing the people of 9-10 not 9-12.
On a site where we are all trying to be on the same page, (attackers aside) we are divided.
300,000 members --- 300,000,000 Americans
and even the 300,000 can't get it together.
I see little hope here, just another depressing thread lowering itself to gradeschool mentality.
Apologies to those of us who are actually trying to rally somekind of sanity here.

All I see now when Old Glory flies, is this perversion… this abomination.
I no longer recognize the land in which I have lived.
I will no longer fly the Stars & Stripes until this madness is at an end ... though I believe to my very soul what it stands for.

I have been paying attention; I have been sounding the warning bell to anyone who will hear me.
My family and frankly I as well are tired. Tired of watching our birthright, the country for which so many of my family fought and died for, “fundamentally changed”.
I ask you, if it was a known Soviet type Communist who assumed the Presidency…
How would he go about changing this country to suit him?
I think we are seeing it right now.
My homeland is being stolen and corrupted and perverted while people go back to sleep for another four years. By the time the public at large gets it… really gets it, it will be too late.
The final straw, the “eye opening” moment was this deal with General Motors’ CEO being, for lack of a better word, fired.
