Filipino Freethinkers : A Very, Very Narrow-Minded View on Gay Marriage

Abolish marriage, it's a religious institution anyway. The government should only recognize civil unions, which is secular and has none of the emotional/religious baggage of "marriage".

AnAtheist.Net : Double Standard? You Decide.

What she means by "intellectual conversation" would probably amount to a deep philosophical discourse of how many angels can dance on the head of a pin.

Conversational Atheist : Failed prophecies and intellectual honesty

The passage in Jeremiah 31, read in its own context, was about the exile of the Jewish people (children of Rachel) and their eventual return to the holy land. It takes a lot of creative wordplay to make it a prophecy.

Sean the Blogonaut : Atheism does not necessarily go hand in hand with Skepticism

In our local freethought group, there was a debate raging about alt-med, and some members believe in obvious quackery. Also, other members in our group believe in conspiracy theories (illuminati, 9-11 truthers, etc).

Atheist Revolution : What Michael Jackson Can Teach Us About the Catholic Church

I think most of MJ's fans that support him during his darkest days probably did have a nagging feeling that their idol was a creep, but they supported him nontheless because they want a 2nd Thriller. I don't know how that parallels with the Roman church where the faithful really are blinded.

AnAtheist.Net : Monday School: Nazareth

Another scholar who has questioned the historicity of Nazareth is Rene Salm. On Harwood's Nazareth=Dispersion/Diaspora argument, Galilee was still part of Palestine and the Jews in the land have not usually been thought of as part of the greater Diaspora. From my studies of Jewish history, Diaspora Jews are those that had lived in Asia Minor, North Africa, Babylonia, and the Greek and Roman states. So I don't put much stock on the word coincidence. The Nazareth=Nazarite connection is more compelling.

Deep Thoughts : Thoughts on the passing of Michael and Farrah

We can hate MJ the human being while still celebrating the musical output of the artist. When I was a wee lad back in the 80s, our parents would play MJ vinyls to wake us kids up in the morning, and would play it until we leave for school. Ah nostalgia...

Verbal Razors : RIP Jacko?

The media coverage is reminding me of the death of another "pop royalty". It's princess Di all over again. And just like Di's death overshadowing Mother Theresa, Jacko's death is overshadowing Farrah Fawcett (you know, the original Charlie's Angel).

Actually, ang netbook supposedly 10.2" and below lang dapat ang screen size, pero since pang-netbook ang processor ng AO751, tama lang na tawagin siyang ganun. Baka nga mas matino pa yang Eee PC mo, especially kung N270 or N280 ang processor.
