The problem with Michael Steele, aside from the fact that he is clearly no where as smart or skilled at leading as Sarah Palin, is the role of the Chairman (or Chairwoman) of the RNC is to raise money and organize campaigns. It is not to be the spokesman/woman for the party. Steele has gotten in trouble trying to promote his ideas and himself at the expense of raising funds and addressing critical election issues like changing the primary system to eliminate the ability of non-Republicans from choosing our presidential nominee - e.g. John McCain. For Sarah to do that job, she would have to give up her strength of public speaking and instead manage the organization. She could do it, but it would not be the best use of her talents.
