I'm gonna pretend this is a regular ol' open thread and update on my situation from the last one. Thanks to y'all, I made myself call some psychiatrists and then one called back and I have an appointment! It's not until late August because there are too many patients and not enough doctors in my community (grr), so I'm considering seeing if I can get in at my PCP sooner to start SSRIs and then follow up with the psych to adjust the dosage if needed or whatever. Is that a thing people do?

Okay, end of pretending. I'm so glad I had this community to cheer me on and make me feel less alone, and I'll miss it terribly. So terribly I might even learn to tweet and Slack.

The last site I loved that shut down (RIP the Dissolve) did so in the middle of the day with essentially zero warning. In the comments section I got word of various new communities springing up in its wake, so it didn't turn out too bad (the spinoff facebook group that I'm in is a lot of fun) but this is a lot better.

I just did my expense report for a trip I took to Vegas for a convention and it continues to boggle my mind how much some stuff cost. I had a highly mediocre dinner at a Chinese restaurant in the hotel consisting of one glass of their cheapest wine, dumplings, and beef with broccoli. It cost over $50! But I didn't have to go outside when it was 110, so my company can pay for it.

I set an Evernote reminder to get to the computer at 8:45 and then I had an Outlook reminder to make sure I refreshed right at 9. I will be taking to the sea!
