<title>Beyond Growth : Social Media: Moving Towards A Brave New World?</title>
<link>http://beyondgrowth.net/social-criticism/social-media-moving-towards-a-brave-new-world/#IDComment57006460</link>
<description>Isn&amp;#039;t it just slightly eccentric to be using free debate in a social networking environment to prove that free debate doesn&amp;#039;t happen in social networking environments? I agree there&amp;#039;s an issue with consumer authoritarianism, especially among the various toxic marketingisms that exist - which would be most of them. Especially those by happy-think scamologists like Godin, and his merry flock of aspirational squidites. But it&amp;#039;s quite a stretch to suggest that Twitter and Wordpress are tools of oppression and WE SHOULD BE AFRAID. Especially, you know, on a blog with comments, and all. </description>
