With the car being front wheel drive and the front dangling over a hole, that probably would not have worked.
Tragic for his family for him to pass away at such a young age (55 is young these days..) Condolences to them. However, if you have to go then I can think of no better way than doing the sport you obviously love. Ride in Peace.
It should be noted that that survey is only for users of the dog park. The city is not interested in other users of the Mesa who may like to comment on other changes that we may want, such as some more single track for more cycling/walking opportunities away from the 8-foot wide paths.

That was incredibly hard to read but also incredible writing. I wish the the peanut gallery on this thread would take the time to read it and realize that this is not about bikes vs cars but rather that a human being's life was shattered in a blink of poor judgement (whoever's judgement that may be).
I wish Adelaide well in what will no doubt be a long recovery.
I'm really please he did this! I plan to take my kids to see this so that get an appreciation of the town they now live in and where it has come from.
I was walking my dog Tuesday evening looking up at Ursa Minor when I saw a shooting star go straight through the middle of the tail of the Great Bear. That was probably about 9:30 an hour before this meteor. Perhaps they were related?
We spent Thanksgiving at Sylvan Dale in 2012. We had planned to go back in 2013 but had to cancel when it was clear that they would not be able to recover in time. My family is now looking forward to heading back this Thanksgiving. It's going to be very different but we're happy to give our support to the Jessups.
The washed out section between the two bridges is the most entertaining at the moment. That section has returned to a dirt single track as trail users have found their own way around the devastation. Though this won't happen, I wish the cities would add more single track that was open to cyclists along the trail system. 8 ft wide crusher paths are okay when you want a quick spin on a cross/road bike but dirt single track that winds through trees next to a stream is heaven. We don't have too many of those along the Front Range and there could be opportunity here along the creek (at least sections of it).
Anyway, looking forward to it all being finished.
