One of the best Zelda songs ever played on one of the best instruments ever. Stupid xylophones only get the attention because they start with the letter X.

Zelda Dungeon : Featured Thread: Will It Still Be the OoT We Know and Love?

I personally believe that anyone who thinks that the "improvements/changes" ruin it and make it "not OoT anymore" are probably purists who are far too obsessed with the game.

Zelda Dungeon : The Music of Zelda

Hmm...that is a good point. Technically, the version in Wind Waker was the original LoZ title, not the actual Overworld theme, and the version in Spirit Tracks segued into the Spirit Tracks overworld. Of course, I originally was going to put in a line about how the games all have bits and pieces of the Overworld theme in them somewhere (I'm Octo Rocked, incidentally...hi!), but I replaced it with the line about how the overworld themes all have similarities to it. The Overworld theme in its best-known form? Technically not in any of those games. On the other hand, it's technically in all the games.

Zelda Eternity : Getting Crap Past the Radar (a Comprehensive Zelda Top 10 List)

Hence the "borderline" part. I personally would have liked to take it for what it was: a tragically beautiful love story. However, may I remind you that Tatl actually points out (oh so helpfully) that "They're lovers, but they look like a mother and child!" Really, that line alone pushes it from unfortunate undertones to something that cannot possibly remain unseen. Not pedophiliac, but it sure looked a lot like it.

Zelda Dungeon : Spirit Tracks: One Year Later

I'll admit that I loved Spirit Tracks on my first playthrough, but was extremely torn once I thought about the game. I found the Spirit Flute incredibly innovative, the story and characters intriguing, and the music quite possibly the best in the series (Although Wind Waker and Majora's Mask are also struggling pretty hard for first). On the other hand, the sidequests were pretty lame (there were essentially two), you were, quite literally, railroaded the entire game. The plot could have made up for it if it weren't for the fact that it would just simply stop. Really, from the first temple to the end of the four Tower of Spirits segment, nothing significant happens. That's some major pacing issues.

This was an amazing article. There's only one problem: where exactly is the mention of Anju and Kafei's borderline pedophiliac relationship (especially considering how Tatl helpfully points it out)? That could easily have been on the list instead of the clearly accidental ones (such as the "tap me" one, where there was really no way around the innuendo).

Zelda Dungeon : Link: The Series

I think that the two series (serii?) will be very different, just because there's so much that can be done with them. Neil involved a man getting transported into a Zelda game. This doesn't look to be anything like that. Frankly, I'm looking forward to this, as there are definitely some places where Neil falls short, and I'm hoping this will be even better.

Zelda Dungeon : A Haunted Story of Majora's Mask Demystified

Although I'm absolutely and completely terrified, I'm pretty sure this is fake, for several reasons. First, like some people mentioned, this is suspiciously good quality for an N64 game. Second, how and why exactly was he recording? He's playing on an N64, not an emulator, and it sounds like he's pinching pennies a bit (in the original article, he's getting the games for cheap at garage sales after going a while without buying any other games from a used game store), so unless he already does a lot of recording from a game system (which he doesn't seem to do...the only 2 videos apart from the ones related to this are from PC games) he wouldn't have stuff handy to just start up. After all, the equipment to do that is $50+, and a college student wouldn't spend money on that if he wasn't going to use it. Even if you account for the fact that the first video starts in the middle of things, with all the glitching going on, you'd think he wouldn't just put it down and start recording, for fear that he'd miss something. It seems a bit suspicious he would have all the supplies he needed and would just start recording it. Also, if he did do a lot of this sort of thing, you'd think he'd be using a microphone as well to do voice-overs...although this one is probably more explainable. The third suspicious thing would be his roommate. The roommate had to have been in the room at least some of the time. He would have known that he was playing the game, and, at the beginning, was probably already in the room. In the description for the 4th video (yes, there's a fourth now, it's on the same YouTube channel as the other three), he says that once the guy started acting weird, he hung around as little as possible. You'd think that the game would at least get mentioned, and that said roommate would have checked it out. The complete lack of involvement until the fourth video is pretty suspicious. Finally, the whole thing seems to center around most of the things that already made the game creepy. The Skull Kid and Majora's Mask, the Elegy of Emptiness statue, Stone Tower Temple, the screams and mask transformations...about the only thing directly related to this that isn't already creepy is Epona, and about the only particularly creepy thing that isn't in this is "Them." It just seems a little too convenient that it would be things that scare people on their own. Most of these reasons are kind of flimsy, but the second one stands up well alone. My opinion is that it's a combination between glitches, hacks, and editing.

Amazing article, and good read. I've heard a theory, incidentally, that the salesman is actually an incarnation of Majora itself, atoning for its past sins. Not sure if I believe that, but it explains how he knows so much and why he's so creepy.
