The Disciplined Investor : TDI Podcast 164: Yves Smith - Naked Capitalism

This was another great and "enlightened" discussion. I especially appreciated her perspective on the book "The Great Short." Nice job with the interview Andrew!

Stock Gumshoe : "The Secret Penny Stock that Supplies Apple"

Be careful with Apple suppliers like TriQuint whose revenues and profitability depend heavily on their continued supplier status, especially when it represents a sizeable chunk of TQNT's overall revenues. Since Apple recently bought a semi-conductor company, certain parts could be "insourced" and TriQuint (or related suppliers) could be dropped at any time. That's likely what will happen with TQNT's stock price if that occurs. I stress that I have no specific knowledge or information to that effect, just cautioning about the perils of investing in companies which have a revenue base heavily concentrated in a few customers.

The Disciplined Investor : Is Google (GOOG) Getting Soft?

A few analysts have recently come out (even before earnings were announced) and said that Google is "dead money" at least until sometime in June. I guess they're expecting some kind of catalyst in June, but so far they've been right. With all the recent stumbles, one wonders what's going on.

The Disciplined Investor : Poll: Should Bernake Have a Another Term?

I'd hate to think of what might have happened last year had he not taken action. Sitting and watching what happens is what they did in Japan, and look where that got them. Replacing him in the middle of this recovery could set us back tremendously. He's not perfect (who is?), but he's the best guy for the job right now.

The Disciplined Investor : S&P Sector Scorecard - The October Carnage

What's interesting is how well the S&P 500 tech sector has held up so well over the past year in light of it's huge outperformance over all periods and other sectors. This even after this week's carnage. Viva la tech!

The Disciplined Investor : TDI Podcast 130: Curzio on Stocks Under $10

Great call Andrew. I listened to your podcast after the close on Monday and was planning to buy STAR on Tuesday morning. That goes to show that waiting can cost you $$$$. By the way, if the agreed upon price is $35, how come it continues to trade in the high $33's? Is this because of the lawsuit over the sale to Cisco? Thanks for all you do!

The Disciplined Investor : Links and Reading for September 30th

Regarding "Consumer Confidence in U.S. Unexpectedly Declines Amid Rising Unemployment", virtually all of the decline came in the present component of the index. Although it declined slightly, future expectations still remain very close to a 20-month high. FYI, it took three tries and almost three minutes to successfully log into intensedebate today.
