Big Journalism : NPR Runs Interference for Obama on Gas Prices

FYI I found this NPR post from 4/27/2006 when gas prices were rising under President Bush to a whopping $3.00 a gallon. Drudge puts it at $6.00 in some places in Florida: http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?stor... Here's the opening quote from that 2006 NPR article, titled "Q&A: What's Behind High Gas Prices?" "With average prices at the pump approaching $3 a gallon, filling up is causing American consumers increasing pain in the pocketbook." Here's how the linked article above opens: "High prices at the pumps could turn into a liability for President Obama — if Republicans have their way." Either way, it's Republicans that are the bad guys. Notice that? First they cause pain at the pump for consumers, then they cause pain to the ObamaMessiah via political capitalization. We all know LibDems would never stoop to such lows, right? But that's how propaganda ministries work. Somewhere, Josef Goebbels is smiling. His students are now truly the masters.

Funny. Most sane people consider Orwell's 1984 a nightmarish cautionary tale. To the modern leftist press worldwide, it's a journalism primer. How far the mighty have fallen.

Big Hollywood : Your Obama Apologist of the Day: Will Ferrell

one million less jobs. Higher gas and food prices. A 150% rise in food stamp recipients. A foreign policy that rewards our enemies and punishes our friends (and don't start with bin Laden, Obama had no choice but to act or face impeachent). $6B plus lost in failed Green energy companies that are only green to his crony friends and all red to the taxpayers. Billions for Brazilian and Middle East oil, not a penny for America's. $26B to date lost on GM to prop up the unions that led it to bankruptcy in the first place. And all that's just for starters. Notice, Tom Blockhead, that I make no mention of race or political party nor do I care. A failed president is a failed president, an apologist is an apologist, and Will Ferrell is a left wing Obama apologist like most everyone else in Hollywood. Fact is, I lived to see Obama White aka Jemmah Cahtah fail the same way, and Obama will likewise be one-and-done president. He has lost the American center which decides national elections, and that spells D-O-O-M in November. The only race issue here is that we now know a black president can be just as politicized, polarizing, inept, incompetent, stupid-acting and corrupt as a white one. Skin color got nothin' to do with it. That is all.

Big Government : California's Death Penalty: Unusual but Not Cruel

Mr. Scott and Surfing Cowboy, just read the many stomach-turning horror stories in expert FBI profiler John Douglas's Mindhunter. Then tell me you don't believe in capital punishment. Some people really do deserve to die for the inhuman things they do, and I don't care how much it costs. Bundy and Gacy BBQs: Priceless! http://www.johndouglasmindhunter.com/home.php As to long-term knowledge, the Boston Globe said the same thing in an editorial about Ted Bundy before his scheduled execution: "think how much we can learn." He brutally raped and slaughtered over forty women in four states, including 13-year-old Kimberly Leach whom he stuffed under a pigshed after like she was human garbage. That was somebody's daughter! How about Bundy, Gacy, Henry Lee Lucas and others like them were just plain evil psychopaths who totally lacked any human empathy whatsoever? What's to learn? Don't think yourselves into stupid over this. Sorry, too late.

Does that include Ted Bundy and John Wayne Gacy, GritBoy? Let 'em loose after 25 years because some misguided easy-to-con prison shrink says they're well again? Why not give them penis pumps and a six-pack of Viagra upon release while we're at it? The best thing about the death penalty, Gritty, is that serial killers like those two will never kill again. There's your deterrent. If only they had a death penalty for abysmal society-endangering stupidity like yours, but I expect Darwin's Law will catch up with you sooner or later.

I would prefer that the death penalty be reserved for the truly heinous: child rapist-murderers, serial killers like Ted Bundy, mass murderers, cop killers, etc. The problem with life without possibility of parole is that it never is. Somehow the maniacs wind up back on the streets and pick up where they left off, even after 40 years in captivity. See, this is how the airhead libtards work: first, eliminate capital punishment. Then, eliminate life without possibility of parole, which they would claim is a de facto death sentence. The only people worthy of imprisonment or execution in their eyes are conservatives! In summation, ACLU moron lawyers take the Rolling Stones to heart, be it cop killers like Mumia Abu Jamal or terrorists like bin Laden: all the cops are criminals, and all the sinners saints. You want the leftist libtard philosophy of life in a nutshell, that's it. Prime example. How many of the same libtard leftists who felt Awlaki was killed without reasonable cause would have pulled the switch themselves on George W. Bush? 'nuff said.

Big Hollywood : We’re Here: Conservatives and Libertarians in the Entertainment Industry

My great hope (and not an unrealistic one) is that conservatives sweep into power in the Oval Office and Congress next year, and that hearings are held regarding the poisonous employment atmosphere in Hollywood. Those who have been blacklisted and have evidence to prove it should testify before Congress. The film industry is of course under NO obligation to hire anyone for any job except by way of artistic merit, but once employed a creative film artist should NEVER be fired for expression of political beliefs alone. Let THEM sweat it out under the glare of the public spotlight for a change! Let THEM answer the tough questions under grilling! Didn't we have this conversation about 60 years ago? What makes McCarthyism wrong then and right now? Don't answer, it's a rhetorical question. The only tolerance the leftist Hollywood kommissars show is for evil, which Thomas Mann declared a crime. As is being fired for beliefs and opinions alone. It's time to get Congress involved. Call them the Operation Fired Fast and Furious/Rightwalker hearings lol!

Big Government : Government Policy, Not Laziness, Responsible for Scaring Away Foreign Investors

Classic case in point: the workers at the iconic Gibson factory. What more do you need to see? Sadly, Obama's government isn't as lazy as he accuses the American people of being. They are in fact working overtime to implement China's state control model, totalitarianism included. To paraphrase Orwell, they want to control all levels of life. The real question is, will we stand by like stupid proles and let them until it's too late?

Big Hollywood : Trailer Talk: 'John Carter' - The Next Big Franchise, or Another 'Prince of Persia?'

As of this year, Edgar Rice Burroughs' classic John Carter of Mars series has endured for a century. Even today the writing is as masterful and imaginative as it was when it was written, though Mars was a great mystery then. That is why I preferred the exotic name of the red planet as Barsoom from the series. I do not understand, and never will, why some Hollywood filmmakers and studios don't stick to the essence of what makes a novel or series great. In the cases of LOTR, A Clockwork Orange and the Harry Potter series, the best filmmakers have excelled at recreating the stories, times and places in audiovisual format. I understand there is a development process to translate words to frames, but how hard is it to stick to the essence of great stories that have endured longer than most of us? I see distinct and glaring variations from the original story in this trailer. I really hope they haven't screwed it up.

Now, are the Hollywood Powers That be upset that Ratner said "rehearsals are for fags"? Or are they really torched because 99% of the stars of screen and stage rehearse, which in essence meant Ratner called them all fags? No question they take things very personal, and rehearsals can't be any easier today. Food for thought. Discuss amongst yourselves.

Big Hollywood : Why Are Audiences Laughing at 'J. Edgar?'

Dustin Lance Black! He of MILK and heartrending words from the 2009 gay infomercial Oscars? Is it any wonder the script screams queer? SO FDR used a wheelchair. Should a film about him focus on that more than the man's life because someone wants to push his disability, which he preferred remained unknown? Fag or no, and with all his many flaws, J. Edgar Hoover was a hardnosed anti-Communist and anti-gangster American lawman who near-singlehandedly created the FBI from nothing as prohibition and gangsterism ran wild in the land. Anyone who read the history knows that. So if he wore a dress on weekends and liked to perform fellatio or butt piracy, he was off the clock and federal property. Clint Eastwood must be mighty downhearted if he's hearing audiences are laughing at his biopic. I'm sure that wasn't his intent, and there's nothing worse for a filmmaker than an audience cringing in horror during a comedy or laughing during a serious drama. I haven't seen the film, only reviews like this one. But knowing Dustin Lance Black is the man behind the curtain, it's no wonder J. Edgar is more bromance than riveting historical drama. Did Clint really let D run rampant like that without changes? If so, the laughter is deserved.

Despite the dated effects, some of these episodes reman eminently watchable, like The Sixth Finger with David McCallum. The show boasted some of the top talents of its day: Martin Sheen, William Shatner, even Ted Baxter. But it was the stories by top writers like Harlan Ellison that drove the show: dark cautionary tales that remain relevant even today.
