I doubt 45 min episodes, the show is still a young kids show and children lack that sort attention span :/ I think this is more likely a way to sort of test out new writers and new people an the show or a way to give the people on the show more time with less stress.

That would make a lot of since and would shorten the no episode period. have a 13 ep fall and a 13 ep spring and little gap in between!

That's my guess/hope I don't see any reason to end the show here after it seems to be such a gold mine if used right!
