I think it's unfair to assume that people in the fandom are easygoing when it comes to quality. I think the reverse is true: We're a group that cares incredibly hard about quality. We were prepared to brave social ridicule and cultural bias in order to embrace a quality show and appreciate it for being good enough to transcend bias.

Everything we've subsequently done, from art to music to animation, shows that same dedication to quality. We want the best. We make the best.

When someone serves us up second best then we don't just quietly swallow it and thank them for trying 'really hard'. I'm not here to celebrate anyone else's ego.
