Geez I was agreeing with you that seatbelts can really mess you up and I know this from experience, hence my story. Sure it mightve been a little long but it was just my opinion that I would rather get hurt from a seatbelt then be dead even in a crash as horrific as this one.and how do you know it was a quick death? Not everyone agrees with your statement that you would be better off dead then having to cope with the damage from a seatbelt. And yeah it sure sucks to be me, alive and healthy because I wore my seatbelt.

Went to highschool with him...it is such a weird feeling to lose one of my classmates to war. It always seemed like something people from older wars would say. When I was 12 my friends mom got drunk and decided to take us gocart racing . We knew she was drunk and locked her out of the car but she threatened to call the cops and us being 12 were afraid so we let her in. and sure enough (this was up in sedro wooley) on one of the dark curvey roads she forgot to turn with the road and kept going straight and we drove into a tree head on. We were in the back seat and we both had our seat belts on but hitting a stopped object going 40-45mph caused cracked ribs and the nastiest bruise from the seatbelt that lasted 2 months so I cant imagine what a seatbelt would do from a crash like this one. I would still rather deal with the seatbelt damage then be dead but the seat belts can really mess you up.Oh yeah I wish I had known more about drinking and driving laws cuz the cops were so focused on us that they didn't investigate my friends mom. If I had known better I wouldve told them to arrest her for dui! I still get mad about this I always thought I couldve died or been permanetly injured if I hadn't been wearing my seatbelt:(

A few summers back my neighbor got arrested after he flew to colorado to meet up with a "mom".and her 6yr old "daughter"who was really a nice cop lady and about 50 more cops. We were completely shocked, he appeared as the nicest, church going, choir singing guy out there. And what was bad about it was people were posting comments about what a "creepy disgusting old perv" he was. Like pedophiles look like pedophiles... they usually look like your next door neighbor you've lived next to your whole life.

Wow, absolutely disgusting. I don't get these people. I understand everybody needs to work and be employed so they can support themselves and/or family but they are all crazy if they don't think what they are doing is excessive, wasteful and wrong. And what's worse is they can say what they do is for our safety and benefit. Reminds me of when they cut education and then ask you to pay more taxes for it because its for the children and if you don't say yes you hate children! Lol. Thank you for sharing!

IMO germany has the right idea. It costs around 2,000 euros to get a license and you have to go through their version of drivers ed. (correct me if I'm wrong I read about this a few years back and things could have changed since). Here in america it is incredibly easy to get a drivers license, if we changed it to be likeGermany we would only have drivers who are serious and more responsible and actually value the privilege of being able to drive. Also there would be less cars on the road and more people getting serious about our public transportation.

I don't understand how nobody is addressing what they are protesting. And why does everybody think they are all unemployed and losers? Is it because of the way they look? Or their comments? Yes every protest attracts some loonies, but they all are there for the same reason, corporate greed. Nobody is addressing the real issue here. Everybody just keeps their head down, go to work, and buy things. Its gonna take people like the Occupy group to get the ball rolling so we can actually make some changes. I know Occupy isn't going to be the thing that does it. But we need more groups like it planting the seed that this is wrong and we have to stop pretending like nothing is going on. We repeatedly get used and it seems nobody cares. I'm sick of it and I hope more movements start up with more structure and more support. We wouldn't need the sponsorship of any company if the people of america actually realize how serious this is and get together. Don't let the government or media fool you. We are many and we are powerful and they need us.

Why do Americans think they are to good for a revolution? Because that's what I see from all these comments, articles, and such. What are we supposed to do? Keep our heads down while we go to work, buy things, have babies, and buy more things. Its frustrating to see something that started out as a good idea get taken over by loonies.
