I live in a "pro-gun" community. Our busiest business in town is the gun shop, right on Main street. Last years # of murders: 0, Last ten years # of murders: 0, Rapes last year: 0 Legal ownership and the right to defend yourself and your family = a safe and responsible, courteous community.

It's the people... not the gun. Guns are illegal in Britain... they are extremely rare because they never really existed in their society. But, their crime level is awful. The criminals use knives and bats, which aren't illegal. Guess what... knifing's are extremely common in Britain. Britain's major cities are downright scary places at night.

This has very little to do with guns. This is a domino effect issue. 1. No one can find work, especially in these poor communities. 2. People get arrested for drug offenses or non-violent theft, etc and they get a felony on their record. 3. They spend a while in the prison system that teaches them how to be animals in order to survive. 4. They get released... NO QUALITY EMPLOYER HIRES FELONS 5. They can't find work, they can't support their family, they can't even legally defend their families... they have become sub-human citizens. (ie. Slaves to society) 6. They return to crime, but this time they are "prison hardened"... crimes are more violent and deadly. 7. They get caught again, more serious... victim dies, but it was an "accident"... they get a hard 3-7 years. Victim gets no second chances. 8. They get released, no jobs, return to crime, and so on until they eventually are murdered themselves through gang violence or they are sent away for "life" or the "chair". Now, lets change the course at #2. They get arrested, charged (drug-related / non-violent) and they go to mandatory drug rehab, mandatory life skills training, mandatory job skills training, mandatory living on a budget. They "do their time, pay their fine" and on release they have a clean slate. Their offense is "erased" and they get a start-over. All citizen rights are restored. Now they have a chance... but those that choose wrong again... get the book thrown at them, long "hard labor" prison term, huge fine, mandatory skills training, etc. Third time... useless human being... convicted... get mandatory "hard labor" life or the chair... convicts choice.

Sounds familiar. we are in Mason county, next door to Thurston. We have 30 acres and not to long ago, the back 15 was a great hay field. Then the beavers blocked up a nearby stream and now I have a 15-acre wetland that i can't touch... oh, but i still get to pay taxes on it! When are we going to stop taking this from our government who is supposed to be protecting our livelihood? This state is a wetland... how is that a endangered habitat? It isn't ... it is just a way for government to control its citizens.

Sorry, I didn't realize as someone who believes in Ron Paul, I am not allowed to believe in other people too. Does this mean I am not allowed to support Rand Paul? I voted for Reagan, somehow I guess that was wrong too? And yea, I like Sarah Palin... She is a good, strong woman and I'd happily have here as one of my elected officials. Actually all that "unfairness" is what brought me to Ron Paul. In 2008, I couldn't bring myself to vote RP, because I was still listening to the media ("He has no chance")... Now it is "He is unelectable", or media forgets to mention the second place winner, but remembers first, third, fourth, and fifth. All the lies, smears, and name calling is angering people and we as America always side with those being wronged. The closest Romney is going to get to running against Obama, will be as a VP.

You should listen to what Sarah Palin said. "You had better not marginalize the Ron Paul followers". If that happens, then yes you will see a 18% block either write-in or vote Obama. Why Obama? Because us "whackjobs" are smart enough to see where this country is heading and if you main-streamers refuse to play fair (like now), then why delay the inevitable? Let Obama run it to the ground, so we can "start from scratch". Our assets (total for everyone) is about $75 Trillion, our unfunded liabilities (money we've promised like SS or medicaid) is about $135 Trillion. So currently, if we sold ourselves to China, we'd still be in hock for another $60 Trillion. The only chance is through Austerity, and the only candidate that even comes close to that is Ron Paul.

I know he is a Santorum guy... but if you listen to him, like I do daily, he supports Ron Paul's fiscal policy and says that RP's is the way to go. But, GB does not like Ron Paul's foreign policy (stated in my original post) which has been misrepresented over and over. Ron Paul has no issue with Israel or its people. In fact, his foreign policy would help Israel, by getting our hands out of the process and stop Israel from "asking our permission" every time they want to defend themselves. Yes, he wants to stop foreign aid, including to Israel, but that also includes stopping foreign aid to all of Israel bordering enemies too. (Which I have heard is 3x more than what Israel receives)

We need to remember that no one is going to agree with 100% of a candidates beliefs. Ron Paul is ideal fiscally, his thoughts on Israel is not compatible with me... but that is not going to alter my vote for him. I call BS on you. Over the last decade, I was like most, believing Ron Paul was a whackjob, but why? Because the media and the establishment told me that. Well, now I've had 4 solid years of investigation on everything politics... now I care to think for myself. What you hear in the media about Ron Paul is BS, or taken out of context. Saying Ron Paul is anti-semetic is ridiculous. Ron Paul wants Israel to run their own country without us telling them what they can or can't do. Does Ron want Iran to get a nuke... no, will Ron commit to bombing Iran pre-Nuke... No way! 9-11? Ron believes exactly what the CIA believes... that we have been in their hair overthrowing their governments for 50 years... and there is going to be "blowback". 9-11 was a piece of that blowback. Does that make 9-11 okay, hell no! Ron Paul is a non-interventionist not a isolationist. Ron believes in free trade, he believes in small government, he believes in low taxes, he believes in the power being in State government. Fed Government should be for defense of our country and other worldly things... not education, not energy, not commerce. Ron Paul believes in INDIVIDUAL LIBERTY. Instead of repeating the BS the media and the right wing power establishment spews, go to his website (http://www.ronpaul2012.com/) and read the sections under "the Issues" for what HE BELIEVES. Then make your decision. People that gamble never make it anywhere in life. My choice is now gone to a bunch of accusations with no hard evidence (Cain). Like I said, I like Romney... albeit he is a bit too liberal; but he has the business part in him, just like Cain did and I am just so sick and tired of lifelong politicians spending our money straight into their back pocket. I never really liked Ron Paul in the past. He is wonderful when it comes to the financial aspect and I think that he would straighten our country out, but he also is an isolationist and in this global economy, that will make us the loser in the long run. So, I'd be happy with him for one term, and really any President that goes in to straighten us out will never win a second term. After his term we need a Romney or Cain-type President to get us growing again.

Actually. Ron Paul may be the only person that can beat Obama. Why you ask? Romney is a great guy and worthy... but he is a Mormon, and no matter how "good" Mormons are, no southern baptist will ever vote for him... scratch 6 states right there. Ron Paul has a 18% following that goes everywhere with him. Ron Paul also can get some "anti-war" democrats, and I guarantee no republican (40% are in the republican block) will vote for Obama again. If cheated out of a fair chance at becoming the republican candidate (like no debate time)... Ron will go third party and Obama will win. Ron Paul is fiscally conservative and socially liberal. He believes in the Constitution and our rights given to us by our creator (not government). He is the only candidate that has a chance of getting us back on track and on our way back to fiscal sanity.
