The comments you're getting are probably spam. If they contain links,
I certainly wouldn't click on them unless you know for sure the sites
are trustworthy, and unless you were to click on the links or download
something, there would be no way for the spam comments to install
malware on your computer.

I don't remember if Disqus has a spam filter, but I would check your
settings. If you keep getting spam, you could turn on moderation and
while it likely won't stop the comments, at least they won't appear on
your blog immediately.

Well, I did lousy. I scored 2 out of 14. Like you, I hate licorice and sprouts, and I also like video games—well, sometimes. Really impressive, huh? Oh well, I'm just not an impressive person. I've lived all my life in a boring place and haven't achieved anything spectacular. Being a pilot would be totally cool, though. But I'd probably get bored after a while. I really am a dull human being. You don't want to meet me. Anyway, I love your blog! I'm not sure if I like it for the pictures or the words. Maybe both. But who cares? I like it. So there. Great post, Daniel! I used to try to juggle it all—what an impossible task. You're right—content comes first, because that's what's most important. You can't promote yourself with social media when you've got nothing to promote, now can you? ;) Checking social media sites and interacting with people, while so important for success as a blogger, to me, is the boring part. I love writing and would much rather spend the majority of my time doing that anyway. And I'm trying to expand my niche to templates, and that eats at my time too. Blogging is just a hobby for me and as much as I enjoy it, I don't want to spend all day on it. I've decided to blog in a way that doesn't drain me of creativity, and that's by doing it MY way. I might be able to achieve better success by doing it some other way, but that's no fun. Hi Jamie, thanks for the kind words. I love hearing from my readers! :) Yes, Blogger has done a great job making their platform simple. Wordpress does have some nice, shiny features that make me green with envy, but Blogger is great for both beginners and advanced users. Plus, with Blogger, there's no hassle when it comes to hosting. That, to me, is a major plus, especially since my blog is just a hobby, and I'd rather not pay for hosting. Hey Jess, Don't be too scared! This seems to be a rather uncommon problem, considering the number of people using Blogger, but it's better safe than sorry. What happened with that copied content is sort of funny, I must admit, though I don't think I would have been too happy. But at least all was made right between you two. Fortunately, I haven't had much trouble with copied content, although I recently got a kick out of an article somebody "wrote", which was basically a rehash of one of my previous articles. At least they have a link back to the original article, but even so, rehashing is sleazy, and the ruined my nice article. I'm not particularly upset, but if it was a consistent problem, I think I'd have something to say. ;) That makes sense about the Dynamic Views. The funny thing is that you can make it private again once you've activated the template. I wonder if new posts would load, though. Hi Brenda! I used to be skeptical that Blogger would delete legitimate blogs, except very, very rarely—that is, until mine was deleted. It really did scare me. Blogger messes up sometimes—don't we all? I don't blame them. They try their best to get rid of spam and I'm so glad they do. I just wish they would keep in mind there are some real people out there getting frustrated by their innocent efforts. Hi Ruth, Sorry for being so slow at replying. :) Customizing your background image is actually really simple. Just go to the Template Designer, click on Background, and then click on the little box in the Background Image section. You can choose one of the default images or upload your own. To add an image to the header is more complicated. Hey Anne, Sorry for such a late reply. I'm really getting behind on comments! I would try changing the header text color to something more subdued—such bright colors are difficult to read. A solid background color or an image for the header would also help to make it more readable, because the background image of your blog has so much variation in color and shade, and most colors would probably blend into some parts of the image.
