The Wild Hunt : Esoteric Publishers, Crowley, and the 'New Right'

Your attack on "a coffee colored world" is an attack on me and my (interracial) family. Live and let live indeed. I think your ideas on that issue are completely idiotic, no matter how enveloped in lofty intellectualism they may be.

I liked this book when I read it about ten years ago...ofcourse I was much more naive and idealistic back then. Maybe I'll give it another read now.

Yes, many of us are "on the fringes of society", always have been, but does that mean we don't have the same basic human rights as those in the center of society?

Sorry, we will never see eye to eye on this issue. Aside from the fact that you obviously have some sort of problem with Paganism. I do not believe that it is up to the government to draw a "line" separating certain religions from others. A secular government like ours has no business doing that. I believe that a member of ANY religion, no matter how "freaky' or "fringe" it may seem, has the right to be accommodated by society and its institutions to the exact same degree as members of mainstream religions. Some might argue that that's what America is all about, in theory anyways.

The Wild Hunt : Why Our Fight Matters

"It is doubly galling to me seeing the Goth subculture once again demonized, as it was in the wake of Columbine, despite any solid evidence that violence is pervasive that subculture." Hear, hear! I was in high school at that time, and it was not a good time for Goths, Pagans and Satanists in the public school system. The threat of being wrongly accused of anything that went wrong was palpable. I feel very strongly for Alexandria's plight...this is a perversion of justice. Has she been in prison for the past five years?

The term Pagan works for me, because I am not a part of a tradition, I am on my own path. If I was a part of a more specific tradition as many are I'm sure I would prefer being called by the name of that tradition. I really enjoyed hearing Nouvelle Noir Goddess' perspective on this. I had no idea Santeria practitioners sometimes referred to themselves as Wiccan because it is more socially acceptable How interesting!

That definition is obviously coming from a Christian perspective, in which all gods but the Judeo-Christian one are false gods. So given the context, I think it makes sense.

Oh, thank you, Rev. Kosak, for acknowledging in your heart and mind that we don't eat babies! I just feel so accepted! *rolls eyes* This interfaith dialog with Christians thing just seems totally futile to me. Sorry to be such a naysayer, but I am not impressed.

I posted to his blog asking a few simple questions (in short, whether his aim was to convert Pagans to Christianity, and whether he thinks we're all going to burn in hell). That post seems to have been deleted. Oh well, so much for interfaith dialog. Can't say I didn't try.
