Mark Watches : Confirmed Shows for the Future

Fortysomething!!! I mentioned this show to you a while back, Mark, and you were quite intrigued by the it. :) It's only 6 episodes. It's a funny, slightly bizarre comedy, starring Hugh Laurie (before House), Benedict Cumberbach (before Sherlock), Peter Capaldi and Anna Chancellor. Also, it's got some excellent female characters being awesome. Please give it a shot! :)

Fortysomething A 2003 ITV miniseries (only 6 episodes). Mark already had it on his previous Confirmed list, no idea what happened to it (haven't been around this site for a while...), but I'm sure you'd love it. Starring: Hugh Laurie, Peter Capaldi, Benedict Cumberbatch (long before he was famous) and Anna Chancellor. :) It's very funny, sometimes bizarre, and has awesome female characters.

I'm usually pretty decent at identifying Polish (and other Slavic) people by sight - but then again, it's because I'm Slavic myself and know where to look for the subtle signs. It's not 100% proof, of course, but I've often guessed that a passenger on a bus (for instance) was Polish - and then they'd use their phone and speak Polish. :D It's a little "spot your fellow Slavs" exercise I sometimes do.

This was absolutely hysterical. :D My favourite parts were the stuff in New Zealand (it's sooo awesome that Peter Jackson and Ian McKellen went along with this) and John Barrowman's secret family (o noez he's secretly straight, aaaarrgh! xD xD xD ). Also, the fact that Colin Baker, Paul Davison and Sylvester McCoy were ACTUALLY present in the 50th anniversary under those sheets is now firmly my headcanon, and I don't give a damn what the actual reality was! :D

You've got it the wrong way around - it's "the right order" precisely because that's the order in which Wan learned the elements. :) He set it up. If he did it, say, fire, water, air, earth, then that would have become the "correct order".

The Hollow Crown is AWESOME, BRILLIANT, FANTASTIC, and all the other superlative adjectives, and Tom Hiddleston really gives Kenneth Branagh a run for his money. And while we're on the topic of Richard II - I'm going to see a theatre production of it in November, starring David Tennant in the titular role. You can all start envying me now. B-) :P

NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO. Just no. Please. A huge part of what makes Doctor Who so great is that it's quintessentially a British thing, it's in the show's soul. Remaking it in the US would destroy that. And I never understood the need of remaking successful shows. Why do that at all? It's so unoriginal, and to me it always looks like an attempt to cash in on the success of the original show and jump on the bandwagon. Why not just make original shows? There are so many amazing original US shows. Why bother with remakes?
