West Ham Till I Die : Fernandes Bid In the Lead?

The only two home games we've played poor in so far this season was Man Utd and Fulham. I'm sure come sunday the boys will be up for it and we'll get the result. I heard Mick Mccarthy was resting his first 11, can anyone confirm this?

We need a player who's not scared to get a bit aggressive. Wasnt happy when he hit upson but as fans you forget those sorts of things when they start playing for you.

Hello mate, you think fans on this site are being a bit negative now, you should have seen after the Bolton game. I was hoping after we had agreed a fee for the tevez thing the press would leave us alone, but at the moment we just seem to be the britney spears of the football world. You're right we shouldnt be down there, and im very confident we wont by the end of the season. One player who has stood out for me off the field is collison. He has done a fair few interviews over the last few months and he seems to say all the right things. I think he's got the otential to become a great captain some day.

I think there are quite a few teams above us who have relied on their home form so far this season. Second half its our turn to start getting some good home results. We'll be ok

I predict that the only player to leave in January will be Upson (probably to man city with a player coming our way). I think there are a fair few clubs interested in some of our other players but if they make a move it will be in the summer. Upson is likely to go because there are a number of teams up the top who are desperate for a centre back who can slot straight in. I think Parker is safe because, although in my opinion he is currently one of the most in form players in the league i cant see any of the big boys coming in for him. I dont think Liverpool or Man Utd have the money for Parker, Man City and Arsenal dont need him and he has already been Chelsea and struggled to make the team. I also think that every club that may be considering him with have his past injury problems in the back of their minds. I dont think Cole will go either because he loves it where he is. His form has been up and down all throughout his career because he couldn't get his head right. He's got himself in the right frame of mind here....why would he risk being unsettled again. As for the take over. The great news as far as i'm concerned is that everyone involved in the bidding has the same objective to bring stability and they all recognise the potential. I just hope that the current owners arent just looking for the highest bidders but also the most suitable.

Sorry i agree with 99% of your posts but i cant agree with you on this. Frank Nouble didnt even seem to try yesterday. I know it was his debut and Arsenal are the most inform side in the league but that wasnt their league side....far from it. And its the worst ive seen them play in a long time. As for Carlton Cole his change in form has been nothing short of a miracle that no-one expected. It wasnt just 18 months it was years before he started to forfill is potential. Nouble needs to show his potential a lot quicker, he wont get the same amount of chances Cole got. I was far to quick yesterday to say he was rubbish and shouldnt be given a chance. He obviously deserves more time. But just because he is young and it was his debut doesnt mean that he deserves a 6 for playing poor. And we shouldnt get too carried away with the fact that Wenger wanted him. Although he's probably the best talent spot in the league he has made some errors.....Jeffers for example. Plus most of his youngsters never break it into the arsenal side, they just get sold on.

I think Iain has been pretty fair in his asessment. the stats dont lie. we only had 32% of the possession and only 3 corners compared to arsenals 14!!!!!

Iain disagree with you on Diamanti. Its nice to have someone in the team who will actually shoot. I also love the fact that the opoosipion players clearly hate playing against him. We need a player who will rattle a few cages. I think our sqaud is full of too many nice professionals. I agree with most of your other comments, im glad im not the only person who thought Nouble was woeful. I was very disappointed. I think 4 for Sears is a little low. The game had already turned in arsenals favour by then and he didnt really get a chance....maybe a 5 or 6 would be more suitable.

okay to say i hope he never plays for us again was harsh but he was poor. He only got 5.2 on the skysports website. People here seem to think he was fantastic......he was never in a millions years 8! 8 suggests that he played a key role in the game. Also those 'world class' centre halves have conceeded a lot more goals this season than arsenal have in previous years. Plus Nouble towers over Gallas and was beaten every time.

I was at the game mate and after the comments on here from you and others im beginning to seriously question my assessment of the game. I stand by my comments on Nouble...when i said i hope he never plays for us again i was too harsh. but he looked poor and the people around me agreed. I think more than anything im dissappointed as i was really looking forward to seeing him play after some of the hype he has received on here. I thought Behrami and Diamani were our best players and i wouldnt like to criticise anyone else. But that was a very poor arsenal side and we would have struggled against a lot of lower division sides.

To be honest i was expecting this result. Though before the game i was extremely worried that the arsenal kids would embarrass us. Was i watching a different game because Behrami didnt look outstanding. I thought he had a good game but i dont think anyone stood out. we have just been beaten by a very poor Arsenal side. I cant remember seeing arsenal playing so poor. Two poor sides, the difference between us being the Arsenal substitutes in the second half. After some of the posts on here i was really looking forward to seing Nouble. Fastest guy at the club? real talent for the future? You're having a laugh right? He was useless! He's like 6 foot 3 and he lost every header. Ther guy seems unable to jump. He constantly lost the ball and NEVER closed down the opposition. Sears should have come on after the first half. Im not conviced he's premiership standard but at least he tries. I'm not annoyed at the result as this wasnt our first team

West Ham Till I Die : Will Zola be Brave Against Arsenal?

i wouldnt worry too much mate, the article was in the mirror so i dont believe it for one minute. that paper has a habbit of making things up without any reference to actual quotes and if they ever do reference someone its always 'an inside source'. I'm not exactly mr business but i wouldnt accept a bid to sell half my stake knowing full well that other bids were yet to be tabled. most things newspapers report nowdays are complete guff, Dont forget that the mirror, sun and mail have tried their hardest over the last year to drag your club through the mud.

West Ham Till I Die : 10 West Ham Predictions for 2010

The papers have shown over the last year that they no longer have any interest in reporting the facts....they only want to print a story. Sometimes i wonder on what basis journalist have written some of the articles. One of my favorites was the Mirror suggesting that all our top young players (including Collison) were leaving the club because they were only on 2,000 a week. I might be wrong but im pretty sure Collison signed a new deal at the end of last season. Also i saw him in a brand new Aston Martin in Hornchurch and there is no way he could afford it on the amount the papers were suggesting he was being paid. I agree with your comments on Nani as well. I actually think he has done a very good job. Preseason ive got no doubt that the club just hoped that or defence was good enough and spent all money available on strikers. Diamanti and Franco have both proved good signings.....normally it takes players a lot longer to adjust. They have been thrown in at the deep end and performed at a respectable sandard. I think Duxbury has to go! hes cost the club millions in the courts.

Iain im sorry but i strongly disagree with your assessment. We are down to our bare bones, some of our players arent fully fit and they played two games in three days. At the start of the season i had this down as a loss so it was no surprise. I thought we played quite well considering. Tottenham didnt look great and their two goals had a bit of luck in them. Modric massively misshit the ball and the defection from Defoes first shot could have gone anywhere, it so happened to fall right in a perfect spot for him to fire off a second shot. Kovac played quite well, damanti had a good game and fought for everything even though he looked knackered. Franco shouldnt have played he was too tired. Tomkins had a great game. There was no shame what so ever in this loss. Tottenham deserved the win but this was not three points thrown away. Tottenham were at full strength and looked fresh, could anyone have honestly expected a different result. I personally would have seen a draw as a better result than the Chelsea game!!

West Ham Till I Die : Results: Portsmouth (& Chelsea) Player Performances

Some very good comments today...nice to see everyone more positive. Has anyone else noticed that since we have moved out of the relegation zone the papers havent been full of articles suggesting al our players are leaving? I agree with Bob, would like to see Behrami mark Lennon out of the game. Its going to be a very tough game but we have looked so much better defencively since we have played 5 in midfield. Perhaps Zola should have started playing 5 in midfield as soon as we started conceeding 3 goals in a game. Also can anyone tell me, was defoe rested for our game or has he been sold? It was very strange to see him on the bench yesterday. Im fully confident that we have the ability to get a result tomorrow, just hope the boys arent too tired.....COYI!!!!

Thought we were good today, not as good as last week though, Portsmouth looked very poor at times.....was this really the same team that beat Liverpool last week? Diamanti was fantastic again, we missed him when he went off. Even after he had been subbed it was great to see him run on....his passion for the team is brilliant. Did anyone else notice all the players surrounding Kovac after his goal? i got the impression that he is very well liked and respected by the squad...they all looked really happy for him.....he had a great game....very energetic. Parker was awesome again. He was every where. After this performance im confident that we will give the spuds a run for their money on mondat...........COYI!!!!
