I think a lot of "baby boomers" are members because they rightly want to influence issues impacting baby boomers . . . but I know an awful lot of conservative baby boomers who are AARP members, and I feel quite sure they don't closely read a lot of the "stuff" they get in the mail from AARP which has over the years appeared to move farther and farther to the left.
